The Sales Consultant is responsible for building foundational broker relationships, creating sales opportunities and achieving sales goals. This role works under close supervision to understand broker needs and provide effective product and technology training. Key duties include establishing regular contact with brokers, developing a basic understanding of product lines, and identifying initial sales opportunities to support growth. The Sales Consultant also contributes to strategic development by assisting in the development and refinement of strategies to meet annual sales targets, utilizing sales status reports to monitor activity, follow-ups, closing business, and target achievement.</p><p>
 <b>Overview of Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>
Meet or achieve monthly/annual sales goals</li><li>
Recommends appropriate solutions to meet customer needs and resolves questions with direction as needed.</li><li>
Generates prospective/inactive broker opportunities by utilizing various sales strategies.</li><li>
Cultivate current broker relationships and identify strategies to expand opportunities.</li><li>
Reviews data on sales reports to identify patterns, identify opportunities and develop sales strategies.</li><li>
Helps identify areas of sales process improvements to achieve sales targets and initiatives.</li><li>
Conduct structured training sessions covering product knowledge, quoting tools, and market trends. Regularly assess broker understanding and provide ongoing education on product updates.</li><li>
Participate in a variety of industry events and conferences to generate new agency leads and develop new business opportunities.</li><li>
Lead brokers through the entire sales cycle, ensuring they understand each step, from quote through implementation.</li><li>
Engage brokers early in the renewal process to assess client needs, any changes in the business, and possible improvements to their current policies</li><li>
Maintain regular communication through check-ins on quote follow up, newsletters, or industry updates. Offer tailored support, whether it's new product information or helping brokers navigate the sales process.</li><li>
Demonstrate a solid understanding of our carrier partner&rsquo;s, industry trends, underwriting guidelines, services and products.</li><li>
Builds relationships with cross-functional/external stakeholders and customers.</li><li>
Ensures a high level of customer service is provided for the utmost experience.</li><li>
Document activity and communication in Agency Bloc.</li><li>
Demonstrate consistent, outstanding judgment, honesty and integrity in all aspects of job performance.</li><li>
Provide back up in other areas within the department/company as needed/requested</li><li>
Knowledge of core OOS quoting processes.</li><li>
Ability to participate in RFP process when competing for an agency.</li></ul><p><b>

Additional Skills and Requirements</b></p><ul><li>
Strong proven track record of supporting the achievement of sales goals.</li><li>
Minimum 1-2 years of health care/medical sales/service experience, preferred.</li><li>
Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent; advanced education or degree preferred.</li><li>
Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills</li><li>
Demonstrate consultative skills with internal and external partners.</li><li>
Proven ability to multi-task in a complex environment with high accuracy and work volume under supervision</li><li>
Solid understanding of market factors, carriers, carrier guidelines, plans, benefits, and legislation in the Iowa and Illinois group insurance landscape.

Compensation</b></p><ul><li>
Salary Range* - $71,250 - $95,000 annually, plus bonus.</li><li>

 </b><b>Advanced Enrollment Management:</b></div><br>

 Process and oversee complex enrollment requests, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in benefit administration.</li><li>
 Assist Account Managers by gathering client data (e.g., client questionnaires, census data), creating cases in Salesforce, and ensuring smooth processing in carrier portals.</li><li>
 Manage new hire enrollments, terminations, and benefit changes, in Ease and EE Navigator, including handling exceptions and discrepancies.</li><li>
 Conduct audits for associates and vendor to ensure enrollment changes are processed accurately.</li><li>
 Follow up with carriers regarding enrollment, terminations, billing discrepancies, and paid to date status.</li><li>
 Maintain and update client records in Salesforce, Ease, and EE Navigator.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
