The Washington County &ndash; Justice Court, Precinct One Office is seeking applicants for the position of part-time Justice Court Clerk for the Brenham, Texas office.Applicants must possess good communication skills and be able to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing, and understand and apply basic mathematical and accounting principles. They must also be able to appropriately prioritize a variety of tasks with attention detail and respectfully interact with the general public.Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Greeting visitors and answering phones; providing general information and directing visitors and calls to the appropriate personnel.</li><li>Data entry and filing.</li><li>Collection of fees, cash handling, and daily balancing of intake.</li><li>Other miscellaneous clerical and administrative duties as assigned.</li></ul>This position requires the applicant to be committed to handling challenging situations with professionalism and composure, ensuring that I maintain respect and understanding when engaging with difficult members of the public.The part-time clerk position participates in the County retirement program but does not qualify for other benefits.Employment is contingent on passing post-offer, pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and/or periodic drug, criminal background investigations, and motor vehicle record reports as appropriate under policy.Job Type: Part-timePay: $18.46 per hourExpected hours: 20 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>Retirement plan</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Court/Judicial: 1 year (Preferred)</li></ul>Language:<ul><li>English (Required)</li><li>Spanish (Preferred)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Brenham, TX 77833 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
