The Transportation Operations Manager is responsible for executing the carrier strategy of all modes of transportation for Watchpoint Logistics. The Manager will lead teams that will effectively manage all aspects of the transportation operation from planning, sourcing, to delivery and billing.

The starting pay for this position is expected to be $95,000 - $105,000 annually. Exact compensation is based on skills, experience, education, and location.
This is a hybrid job, reporting to the office four days per week.
Job Duties<ul><li>
Implement and drive the domestic transportation strategy for Watchpoint Logistics</li><li>
Deliver daily coaching and performance management. Monitor employee activity, productivity and quality metrics; work one-on-one with team members providing coaching and guidance to drive results. Support employees with problem resolution or remove barriers when appropriate</li><li>
Accountable for the professional development of direct reports to ensure proper goal setting, training and project requirements are met</li><li>
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training to enhance team member capabilities</li><li>
Provide prompt and accurate information to the team to ensure all members are working to meet/exceed our customers' expectations</li><li>
Utilize analytics to drive decision making, manage employee performance and improve quality. Promote usage among the team to ensure appropriate action is being taken in response to results</li><li>
Execute company operating procedures for the efficient and profitable management of Watchpoint&rsquo;s transportation operations</li><li>
Manage and communicate with Watchpoint&rsquo;s carriers ensuring best value and service vs. objectives. Ensure providers meet the scope of SLA and agreed terms of service in a consistent and reliable fashion.</li><li>
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions</li><li>
Monitors service failures through the Salesforce Incident Management tool and formulates or contributes corrective actions as applicable</li><li>
Work collaboratively with sales and customer service to ensure service execution and reliability</li><li>
Ensure financial goals and budgets are met and develop short-term actions to address any budgetary shortfalls</li><li>
Implement cost-effective measures without compromising service quality and safety standards</li><li>
Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost savings to maximize profitability</li></ul>
Requirements:
<ul><li>Advanced use of computer systems and applications (e.g. MS Office, TMS) as trained/required.</li><li>
Able to deliver quality results consistently and on schedule. Self-motivated and follows through on initiatives.</li><li>
Experience in delivering world class customer service skills through problem solving, rapport building, and effectively de-escalating high pressure conversations with patience and decorum.</li><li>
Leads with humility and respects others, promotes a culture of safety, trust and teamwork. Self-regulates emotions, displaying a calm demeanor.</li><li>
Communicates with clarity and confidence in customer, executive and team environments. Employs active listening and strong negotiation skills when necessary.</li><li>
Uses independent judgment and is able to identify problems, root-cause, and develop effective solutions. Generates new ideas to support change and creatively solves problems.</li><li>
Manages priorities and sets productivity expectations. Ensures initiatives are fairly distributed and the team is set to successfully deliver on project objectives. Identifies and takes accountability for meeting KPIs.</li><li>
Effectively manages team performance through training, coaching, and feedback.</li><li>
Strong leadership and motivational skills in managing diverse teams. Able to delegate tasks and responsibilities, sets clear and impactful goals and holds team members accountable.</li><li>
Demonstrated experience with managing human, financial and operational resources resulting in optimization of resources. Strong analytical skills; makes decisions based on long-term payoffs or outcomes.</li></ul>
Education and Experience
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree plus a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in transportation or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's essential functions require the following physical demands: operating a computer, remaining stationary for most of the shift, and occasionally moving about the workspace. The person in this position frequently exchanges information using email and other electronic communication methods and must be able to observe and report on communication received via phone and computer.
