Watercrest Winter Park is looking for a Memory Care Med Tech to join their Resident Care team! As a key member of the team, you will ensure the day-to-day medication management program of our Memory Care residents is provided in an accurate, sensitive, professional and effective way in accordance with current regulations. The Memory Care Med Tech may also perform day-to-day activities of care giving for the residents and participates in the Dining and Community program to ensure the best quality of care is provided for all residents.</div><div>
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</div><ul><li>
Distribute prescribed medication to residents and maintains related medical records under supervision of the Resident Wellness Director and maintains compliance with the RIGHTS of medication</li><li>
Presents medication to resident as required by the MOR and observes ingestion or other application, or assists in the administration of medication, using specified procedures</li><li>
Takes vital signs or observes resident to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report or notifies designated personnel of unexpected reactions</li><li>
Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered, held, changed, disposed of, discontinued or returned on the MOR</li><li>
Review and participate in 24 Hour Reports, Daily Logs, Shift Cross-over Reports and verbal reports as needed</li><li>
Monitors medications to ensure adequate accountability measures are taken when medications are ordered, received into the community, administered and at change of shift as required by policy and procedures</li><li>
Respects the resident&rsquo;s rights regarding medication</li><li>
Notifies the Wellness Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) or Resident Wellness Director (Director of Nursing) of unauthorized medication held by the resident</li><li>
Seeks advice from the Wellness Nurse or Resident Wellness Director prior to administering any medication that does not seem correct</li><li>
Understands and can explain the medication dosage/pharmacology when necessary</li><li>
Refrains from giving any PRN medications as required by law (if applicable by state)</li><li>
Complete incident and accident reports and documentation timely</li><li>
Report changes in resident condition to RWD or Nurse designee immediately</li><li>
Refrains from providing any treatment that does not fall under their specific licensing</li><li>
Assist residents with their personal care and activities of daily living as assigned and as requested by residents</li><li>
Perform daily housekeeping tasks as assigned using established procedures and standards</li><li>
Respond to resident emergency calls</li><li>
Assure that established infection control practices are maintained</li><li>
Report all hazardous conditions and equipment to the supervisor</li><li>
Assure the equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of each shift</li><li>
Report all accidents and incidents as soon as possible to your supervisor, no matter how minor</li><li>
Maintain the confidentiality of residents&rsquo; personal care information</li><li>
Honor the residents&rsquo; personal and property rights</li><li>
Must be in company uniform and resident ready at all times</li></ul><div>
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</div><ul><li>
Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, residents, family members, vendors, referral sources and outside contacts</li><li>
Able to make independent decisions</li><li>
Must be able to communicate in a warm, friendly and caring manner</li><li>
Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens</li><li>

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:</div><ul><li>

License / Certificate for Medication Assistance as required per state regulations</li><li>
