<div>Position Criteria:<ul><li>
High school diploma</li><li>
Experience in the area of maintaining grounds, preferred</li><li>
Must be at least 18 years of age</li></ul>
Performance Criteria:<ul><li>
Maintains and cares for school grounds.</li><li>
Assists with selection of appropriate trees, shrubs, plants and seeds.</li><li>
Prunes trees and trims hedges to promote growth and improve appearance.</li><li>
Mows designated areas with hand or power mower.</li><li>
Work with subcontractors on landscaping beds and lawn care</li><li>
Maintains athletic fields and prepares for events.</li><li>
Connect sprinkling equipment and waters lawn and flowerbeds.</li><li>
Inspects flowers, shrubs, and trees for evidence of insects, fungi, and other pests and sprays or dusts chemicals on infected areas.</li><li>
Shovels snow from sidewalks and driveways and spreads sand, or salt to prevent slipping.</li><li>
Snow removal and plowing with pickup, tractor and/or Bobcat.</li><li>
Responsible for care and maintenance of lawn and snow removal equipment</li><li>
Parking lot maintenance.</li><li>
Playground maintenance and inspections.</li><li>
Procure supplies and equipment as needed.</li><li>
Be physically capable to work with all equipment directly. This can require heavy lifting (25-50lbs frequently, 50-100lbs occasionally), frequently walking/standing or constant pushing and pulling, as well as physical flexibility.</li><li>
Assist with operational and mechanical jobs as assigned</li><li>
Performs other such duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Board.</li></ul> 
Successful candidates will need to complete a pre-employment drug screen, pre-employment physical, motor vehicle check, and background check as part of the Waukee Community School District hiring process.</div>
