Tooling Designer

ROLE:

Design and/or modify customer provided CAD data utilizing foundry casting principles to create 3D models from which mold and/or core tooling will be built.

RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES:
<ul>
<li>Work directly with foundry tooling engineers on the design, configuration and build layout of mold and core box tooling.</li>
<li>Layout multiple cavity tooling as directed by tooling engineering.</li>
<li>Design cores including print area to satisfy casting requirements.</li>
<li>Utilize 3D CAD software (PowerShape, Inventor, Creo, NX, etc.) to modify, shrink, draft, radii, and fillets.</li>
<li>Assist CAM Designer on the transfer of model information for CNC cut path generation.</li>
<li>Understand the design and build of Disamatic mold patterns, core setters, Laempe / CB / D75 core machines, and definers.</li>
<li>Generate build and assembly drawings for pattern shop. Answer any questions that may arise.</li>
<li>Work with other pattern personnel to determine tooling rework strategies.</li>
<li>Responsible for making recommendations in regard to process improvements as well as new technology.</li>
<li>Train personnel as required.</li>
<li>Order materials as needed.</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
<ul>
<li>5 or more years of related experience and/or training, including CNC Machining experience and working knowledge of 3D CAD systems utilizing surfacing.
</li><li>Ability to create 3D models from 2D layout drawings.</li>
<li>Ability to apply non-uniform shrink, draft and offset parting to models.</li>
<li>Understanding of off-set parting and pattern offsets</li>
<li>Able to calculate stock materials based on model information.</li>
<li>Ability to compare 3D part models to 2D casting layout drawings for accuracy and sufficient stock material.</li>
<li>Employ critical thinking, logic, and reasoning to troubleshoot and solve problems.</li>
<li>Must possess good written and oral communication skills.</li>
</ul>

Environmental Coordinator

ROLE:

Responsible for managing organizational environmental activities in accordance with the Environmental Management System.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
<ul>
<li>Coordinate all environmental compliance activities for a principal gray and ductile iron foundry in the U.S. market sector.
</li><li>Supervise environmental staff spanning four facilities located in Wisconsin and Indiana.</li>
<li>Implement continual environmental improvements as the Corporate ISO 14001 EMS Management Representative in multi-media categories including air emissions, solid waste, water use and energy use reductions.
</li><li>Promote sustainability improvements across the organization&rsquo;s manufacturing locations and activities.
</li><li>Conduct/support all air and water permitting activities with state agencies to facilitate the construction or modification of plant emission sources.
</li><li>Manage the construction, operation, closure, and long-term care of three landfill facilities owned by WFI.</li>
<li>Facilitate the beneficial reuse of industrial by-products in lieu of landfill disposal.</li>
<li>Perform duties required by Radioactive Material Licenses for industrial gages (both Agreement State and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission) as the Corporate Radiation Safety Officer.</li>
<li>Correspond with public, state, and federal agencies to communicate WFI environmental activities.</li>
<li>Oversee a multi-million-dollar budget for all WFI environmental activities.
</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS PREFERRED:

<li>B.S. Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline.</li>
<li>Environmental regulatory compliance experience (10+ years).</li>
<li>Project management experience.</li>
<li>Strong math skills and experience in data analysis.</li>
<li>General computer and software competence.</li>
<li>Experience in administering management program systems (ISO 14001, 50001 preferred).</li>
<li>Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Applicant must demonstrate strong writing and public speaking skills.</li>
</ul>
TRAVEL:
<ul>
<li>Travel required (varies 15-30% of work time based upon current project load).
