<div>WCF Insurance is growing, and the Underwriting Compliance &amp; Business Technology team has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as a Manager, Underwriting Compliance. This is a full-time, exempt position that works in the WCF's Sandy, Utah headquarters building (Tuesday &ndash; Thursday) and will report to the Director, Underwriting Product Technology. The person in this position is responsible for all data-exchange programs between the WCF Underwriting department and its vendors, ratemaking bureaus and regulatory agencies, and quality assurance for WCF underwriters.
QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
Bachelor's degree.</li><li>
At least seven years of work-related experience; supervisory experience preferred.</li><li>
Outstanding research skills and ability to study technical manuals to understand, communicate, and help implement technical specifications.</li><li>
Expertise in complex business processes, system design, operations, WCF applications.</li><li>
Detail oriented and flexible to changing needs.</li><li>
Good troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills.</li><li>
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with both business and technical partners.</li><li>
Able to work in a team environment and prioritize and balance multiple projects simultaneously.</li></ul>
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS<ul><li>
Act as the primary contact for underwriting compliance and reporting.</li><li>
Oversee the business side support of reporting compliance and other data exchange for the underwriting department.</li><li>
Manage the construction, maintenance, and optimization of incoming and outgoing data feeds between WCF and its business partners.</li><li>
Identify the reporting implications of changes to product offerings, company strategy, vendor partnerships, state regulations, bureau requirements, published reporting standards, etc.</li><li>
Oversee the process of implementing necessary changes, from requirement gathering to testing to implementation.</li><li>
Coordinate the development and delivery of training on reporting-related topics.</li><li>
Monitor data fields for accuracy and completeness in all required reports.</li><li>
Research, diagnose, and remediate reporting errors. Refine feeds to reduce future errors.</li><li>
Gather, prepare, and submit state-specific underwriting data.</li><li>
Interact with users, system professionals, training partners, ratemaking bureaus, and state regulators.</li><li>
Query data using SQL to audit reporting issues.</li><li>
Work Closely with IT Department to program data fixes and/or perform data conversions as needed.</li><li>
Work Closely with Legal Department to remediate any compliance issues, including fixing data, notifying policy holders and/or vendors when appropriate.</li></ul>
ACCOUNTABILITY &amp; REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>
Primary responsibility for ensuring that the underwriting department has the business-side structure, systems, and processes to maintain an excellent level of reporting compliance and data flow.</li><li>
Manage a small team of reporting and compliance specialists.</li><li>
Subject-matter expert on all underwriting reporting standards, regulatory requirements, and data-exchange methods.</li><li>
Responsible for ensuring effective collaboration between underwriting and its internal and external partners.</li></ul>

This position is based in an office environment with adequate temperature and lighting control. Benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, company paid life insurance, 401K with a generous 6% employer match and additional benefits such as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and time off to volunteer in the local community. All employees earn 4 weeks of vacation in their first year. The salary range for this position is from $98,000 - $122,500 annually. The salary range is based on experience, education, and location.
