ABOUT WE DO IT 4 THE CULTURE&trade;We Do It 4 the Culture&trade; (WDI4TC) is a culturally responsive EdTech platform that blends social-emotional learning (SEL), media, and youth culture to empower middle and high school students nationwide. Rooted in CASEL&rsquo;s five competencies and transformative SEL, our platform provides media-rich, culturally sustaining content that is turnkey for schools and districts.We are seeking a Curriculum Designer (Contract/Project-Based) to lead the redesign of our curriculum framework and lesson format. This role will ensure that every WDI4TC lesson is CASEL-aligned, standards-based, flexible, and teacher-friendly.PROJECT SCOPEThe Curriculum Designer will:1) Curriculum Audit &amp; Alignment<ul><li>Conduct a comprehensive audit of the current WDI4TC curriculum.</li><li>Assess lessons for alignment with CASEL 5 competencies and state SEL standards.</li><li>Identify gaps, redundancies, and inconsistencies in structure and sequencing.</li></ul>2) Curriculum Framework &amp; Lesson Design<ul><li>Develop SEL strands/curriculum bands to organize lessons across grade levels.</li><li>Create a lesson format/template that ensures consistency, clarity, and turnkey usability for educators.</li><li>Design for flexibility&mdash;allowing lessons to be adapted for:</li><li>Different time allocations (short, medium, extended).</li><li>Varying teacher experience and comfort with SEL.</li><li>Diverse cultural and school contexts.</li><li>Incorporate scaffolding, chunking, and non-traditional evaluation strategies into the lesson design framework.</li><li>Ensure lesson design prioritizes student engagement, cultural relevance, and educator ease-of-use.</li></ul>3) Scope &amp; Sequence Development<ul><li>Produce a revised scope and sequence that balances the 5 core SEL competencies.</li><li>Recommend sequencing that scaffolds SEL skills across grade bands (6&ndash;8, 9&ndash;12).</li><li>Align lesson progression with CASEL&rsquo;s framework and best practices in transformative SEL.</li></ul>DELIVERABLES<ul><li>Curriculum Audit Report with recommendations.</li><li>Standardized lesson template/format for all WDI4TC lessons.</li><li>Framework for SEL strands/curriculum bands (with clear structure across grade levels).</li><li>Revised scope &amp; sequence aligned to CASEL standards.</li><li>Implementation guide for how future curriculum writers should apply the new framework.</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>Proven expertise in curriculum design and framework development.</li><li>Strong knowledge of social-emotional learning and the CASEL framework.</li><li>Experience auditing curriculum and aligning to state/national standards.</li><li>Ability to design turnkey, flexible lesson formats for diverse contexts.</li><li>Familiarity with culturally responsive and non-traditional curriculum design.</li><li>Appreciation and connection to hip-hop culture and social emotional learning.</li></ul>To ApplyTo apply, please complete this form (https://forms.monday.com/forms/06bd00c81a85f856fcad8a74e0e78071?r=use1) to share your resume, cover letter, and a proposal for the work described above.Applications are due by October 15, 2025.Job Types: Contract, TemporaryProjected Total Compensation: $1,000.00 - $10,000.00 per monthWork Location: Remote
