Position Title: Procurement Specialist
 Location: Green River, WY
 
Key Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Execute procurement activities including sourcing, negotiations, contract formation, supplier management and strategic planning for all Company related needs</li>
<li>Manage vendor contracts and performance to ensure service levels, cost competitiveness, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements</li>
<li>Lead sourcing and procurement for assigned commodity group including MRO, Services, Capital, and Repairables purchases</li>
<li>Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, engineering, finance, and leadership to align procurement activities with business needs—from tactical buys to strategic sourcing initiatives</li>
<li>Provide procurement support across categories as needed and contribute to department-wide objectives</li>
<li>Drive compliance with WE Soda Alkali procurement standards, internal controls, and ethical sourcing policies</li>
<li>Ensure timely and effective communication with stakeholders and suppliers to manage expectations and meet operational requirements</li>
<li>Support the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of procurement processes and procedures, including onboarding and training of new department employees</li>
<li>Demonstrate professionalism, customer focus, and a sense of urgency in daily activities</li>
<li>Work independently, prioritize effectively, and take initiative on assigned tasks and improvement projects</li>
</ul>
Activities: 
<ul>
<li>Lead local/regional sourcing activities, including negotiating and contracting for materials and services for the site</li>
<li>Manage contracts and maintain vendor relationships critical to the site</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with appropriate local sourcing processes takes place according to WE Soda Alkali procurement policies and site-specific sourcing procedures</li>
<li>Support implementation and adherence to enterprise-wide contracts at the site level</li>
<li>Resolve supplier performance and invoicing issues, monitor and document supplier reliability, delivery, and quality performance</li>
<li>Analyze supplier performance metrics and collaborate with vendors to drive continuous improvements</li>
<li>Identify, execute, and document cost-saving and value improvement initiatives</li>
<li>Review and process new vendor requests, ensuring supplier prequalification is complete and risk-assessed in accordance with company policy</li>
<li>Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline procurement workflows and support training on procurement policies and processes</li>
<li>Ensure accurate and timely execution of purchase orders, data entry, and procurement reporting</li>
<li>Support budget and forecasting activities by providing timely procurement data and spend insights to Finance</li>
<li>Support and comply with site-level quality systems, safety, and environmental management systems</li>
<li>Actively participates in the safety programs and activities</li>
<li>Build strong internal relationships to ensure alignment between Procurement and site functions including Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Finance</li>
<li>Prepare and execute purchase orders and service contracts that align with site timeliness, cost targets and operational goals</li>
</ul>
Skill, Ability and Educational Requirements:Required Skills and Experience: 
<ul>
<li>High School diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) with 1-3 years of relevant functional procurement experience.</li>
<li>Demonstrated communication skills through various modes.</li>
<li>Ability to manage priorities to efficiently and effectively meet deadlines.</li>
<li>Execution of detailed PO/contracts relating to services, materials, timeliness, cost savings and profitability.</li>
<li>Effective negotiation and influencing skills</li>
</ul>
Preferred Skills and Experience: 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain & Logistics, or relevant equivalent.</li>
<li>CPM or CPSM Certification</li>
<li>Integrated use of ERP systems such as SAP, and strong working knowledge of MS office applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams.</li>
</ul>
