Position Summary</div>
</div><div>Under supervision, assists scientists with laboratory and investigative procedures This role performs various assays, imaging experiments, and other technical duties to assist with the research activities of the laboratory and may be required to work with animal models and/or human subjects</div></div><div><div><div>
Job Responsibilities</div>
</div><ul><li>Prepares and maintains detailed records, logs and summary reports of all procedures and results including graphs, scientific calculations, and statistical analysis charting.
</li><li>May be responsible for tissue &amp; cell culture activities.
</li><li>May be responsible for animal husbandry, genotyping, surgeries, post-operative care, behavioral testing, sectioning and histology.
</li><li>May perform routine molecular biology laboratory procedures, such as PCR, protein and DNA electrophoresis, cloning and DNA preparation.
</li><li>May run routine biochemistry assays including western blotting and RT-PCR.
</li><li>May perform microscopic imaging analyses.
</li><li>May be responsible for the receipt, storage, cataloguing and shipment of samples within and between institutions.
</li><li>Ensures a clean working area and is responsible for washing and storing glassware.
</li><li>Ensures that safe laboratory practices are followed, including the use and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
</li><li>Analyzes data using computer software and reports results to the principal investigator(s).
</li><li>Provides technical support to faculty and staff including training of new employees, residents, postdoctoral associates, fellows and students.
</li><li>Participates in planning and carrying out experiments. Assists in preparing research protocols.
</li><li>Conducts library research and literature searches using various computer systems. Assists in editing scientific publications, abstracts and posters.
</li><li>Maintains inventory of supplies, equipment and/or reagents. May order supplies/equipment/reagents as authorized or ensure that needs are escalated appropriately. Receives supply orders and confirms accuracy of delivery. May assist with cost control.
</li><li>Ensures that facilities and equipment are in optimal and proper working condition. Coordinates preventative maintenance and repairs as needed. May perform minor repairs if qualified and as needed. May advise on upgrades for performance enhancements.

Position Summary</div>

The Physician Assistant (PA)is responsible for the clinical practice of medicine within the designated specialty, working in collaboration with a supervising physician and in accordance with an established delineation of privileges. Within their scope of practice, the PA will independently and collaboratively function as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) which includes but is not limited to obtaining history and physical exam, determining differential diagnosis, evaluating and managing of acute/chronic medical complaints and conditions, and determining the need for therapeutic/diagnostic tests and procedures. The PA will perform additional specific functions, as it pertains to the specific medical and/or surgical specialties. A graduated level of autonomy is expected and granted based upon individuals&rsquo; competency, skill set and knowledge.</div></div></div><div><div><div>
Job Responsibilities</div>
</div><ul><li>Responsible for direct patient care and coordination within specialty areas.
</li><li>Evaluates new and/or established patients by obtaining comprehensive and focused health histories and performs both limited and complete physical examinations as appropriate.
</li><li>Orders labs, imaging, diagnostic testing, and consultations. Reviews and interprets results to develop a patient care plan in a timely manner.
</li><li>Prescribes medications and therapeutic interventions as appropriate, following accepted standard of care and practice guidelines.
</li><li>Enters the above in patients&rsquo; medical records in accordance with documentation best practice standards.
</li><li>Counsels and educates patients and caregivers on acute and chronic disease management, prevention, and health promotion, adapting guidance to age, education, psychosocial needs, and cultural background to ensure safe, complete, culturally competent care.
</li><li>Confers with specialists, attending physicians, residents, APPs, nursing staff, and/or other health care providers to promote continuity of care and optimize patient outcomes.
</li><li>Assists in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of research protocols when applicable.
</li><li>When applicable, performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and interventional as determined by the delineation of privileges.
</li><li>Educates and councils patients as per specialty practice standards.
</li><li>Performs related duties &amp; responsibilities as determined by patient or practice needs and as required by delineation of privileges, in accordance with legal scope of practice and departmental protocols.
