You&rsquo;ll join an ambitious, international team where ownership is encouraged, collaboration is key, and impact is visible from day one. We&rsquo;re opening our new office in Rotterdam this year, where the team will meet 1&ndash;2 days per week to brainstorm, build, and grow together.
About the Tech Team
You'll work closely with our CTO, our engineers, and our Lead Designer as we continue building the in house product teams. Our design foundation design system, tokens, and reusable components across web and app now lives in-house, and we're at the exciting stage of maturing and scaling it.
You'll help evolve the standards for design systems, usability, user experience and research while shaping how thousands of users interact with our platform. Over time, the team will scale to around 10, and your work will have a lasting impact on product, brand, and user trust.
About the Role
As a UX/UI Designer, you'll create engaging, intuitive, and user-centered experiences across web and mobile app. From user research and journey mapping to extending our design system in Figma, your work will directly influence how people experience Wellis.
You won't be doing this alone. You'll work with our Lead Designer splitting and owning work across web and app, giving and receiving feedback, and jointly building out the core standards and structures that the design chapter will run on as it grows.
How We Design &mdash; with AI, and with our Lead Designer
Design at Wellis is a partnership, and AI is part of how we work &mdash; not a bolt-on at the end. 
You'll work directly with our Lead Designer, who has built the current design foundation (system, tokens, components, and design-to-code workflows across web and app). Together you'll maintain and extend that foundation, document the standards behind it, and shape how the design chapter operates as it scales. There's real room here to take ownership of areas of the system and make them your own. 
We also expect AI to be woven through your process. We use modern AI tooling alongside Figma &mdash; for research synthesis, ideation, generating and maintaining components, and bridging design to code (e.g. Figma's MCP, Claude / Claude Code, and similar). You don't need to be an expert in every tool on day one, but you should be genuinely curious about working with AI as a creative collaborator and a force multiplier &mdash; and keen to help us define how the chapter uses it well.

About the Role</h3>
As a Mobile Developer, you'll take the lead in shaping the next generation of the Wellis app. You'll translate designs into seamless native experiences across iOS and Android, integrate smart health features, and build the foundation for a scalable, content-rich wellness platform. Your job is to ensure the Wellis app feels intuitive, personal, and genuinely supportive throughout the user's health journey &mdash; far beyond a simple e-commerce transaction.<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>
Take end-to-end ownership of the Wellis app &mdash; from first MVP to a mature, scalable product.</li><li>
Translate UX/UI designs from Figma into high-quality, native iOS and Android experiences.</li><li>
Design, build, and maintain complex app features around health, wellness, and coaching &mdash; far beyond a simple e‑commerce checkout.</li><li>
Integrate with Apple HealthKit, Google Fit, wearables, and other device capabilities to create smart, data-driven user journeys.</li><li>
Collaborate closely with backend engineers to connect the app to our GCP-based, API-first platform.</li><li>
Implement localization and multi-market capabilities so the app can scale across countries and languages.</li><li>
Ensure app performance, reliability, and security, especially around sensitive health data.</li><li>
Act as a sparring partner for product, UX, and C-level on mobile strategy, roadmap, and technical choices.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
About the Team</h3>
You'll report directly to the CTO, who brings deep experience in building scalable digital platforms and high-impact mobile products. You'll work closely with our UX/UI partners, backend engineers, data team, and medical &amp; customer care teams &mdash; with plenty of room to take initiative yourself. As we're building our mobile capabilities from the ground up, the product &amp; tech domain is growing fast, and you'll have the opportunity to play a key role in shaping our mobile app vision and future mobile team.<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
A Week in the Life @ Wellis</h3><ul><li>
Monday: Review the current iOS and Android app backlog, clarify requirements with Product, and translate new UX/UI designs from Figma into technical tasks.</li><li>
Tuesday: Implement new iOS and Android features in Swift and Kotlin, pair with backend engineers to refine APIs, and push an internal test build for feedback.</li><li>
Wednesday: Integrate Apple HealthKit, Google Fit, or other device data, improve performance and stability, and fix bugs discovered in recent releases.</li><li>
Thursday: Sync with designers and stakeholders on upcoming wellness and coaching flows, refine the app architecture, and improve code quality through refactoring and reviews.</li><li>
Friday: Prepare and ship a new TestFlight or App Store build, monitor key app KPIs and crash reports, and share progress, learnings, and next-steps with the wider product &amp; tech team.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"> 
Who You Are</h3><ul><li>
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in native mobile app development, with proven expertise in both iOS (Swift) and Android (React Native).</li><li>
Deep experience building and shipping complex, content-rich, highly interactive apps (beyond basic e‑commerce/check-out flows).</li><li>
Experienced in integrating mobile apps with cloud backends and APIs (preferably GCP, but AWS/Azure experience is welcome).</li><li>
Comfortable working with design tools and workflows (e.g. Figma) and translating UX/UI concepts into smooth native mobile experiences.</li><li>
You are an early AI adapter and know how to leverage AI in your work.</li><li>
Combine strong engineering craft with a product mindset: you think in terms of user journeys, personalization, and long-term scalability.</li><li>
Strong collaborator and communicator across multiple disciplines (product, design, data, medical/clinical, customer care).</li><li>
Fluent in English; experience in healthtech, wellness, or other data-sensitive domains is a plus.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
