The purpose of this position is to ensure that the day-to-day maintenance of the plant&rsquo;s building structure and electromechanical systems run smoothly and efficiently.
Starting wage is $26.64 an hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li>Responds to maintenance service requests in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Diagnoses and troubleshoots repairs of critical equipment including electrical distribution and controls, circuit breakers, automatic transfer switches, generators, automation controls and HVAC equipment using a variety of specialized hand and power tools.</li>
<li>Performs general repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment and building and grounds, including, tuckers, forklifts, saws, power tools, mixers, blenders, flat conveyors, bucket elevators and other equipment specific to our business.</li>
<li>Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building structures and systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, painting and carpentry to detect malfunctions and prevent deterioration.</li>
<li>Ensures that proper testing has been completed before returning systems or equipment to production.</li>
<li>Provides back-up support to the Rolling Stock Mechanics team.</li>
<li>Operating machinery, as well as overhead cranes, and forklifts.</li>
<li>Driving truck, trailer, or tractors within the Yard.</li>
<li>Performing area cleanup/housekeeping including putting away tools, sweeping debris and cleaning cluttered areas.</li>
<li>All other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
<ul><li>Prior hands-on experience diagnosing and troubleshooting repairs on heavy equipment and building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and boilers.</li>
<li>Ability to become certified in AWS D1.0 &amp; D1.4</li>
<li>Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of fabrication techniques including stick and wire welders.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of small engine repair.</li>
<li>Ability to operate a variety of equipment, including but not limited to as well as overhead cranes, and forklifts.</li>
<li>Ability to drive truck, trailer, or tractors within the Yard.</li>
<li>Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagnostic and operator&rsquo;s manuals.</li>
<li>Ability to get to work on time, daily.</li>
<li>Ability to work outside as required.</li>
<li>Excellent problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills.</li>
<li>Associate&rsquo;s degree in industrial maintenance or electromechanics a plus.</li>
<li>Journeyman electrician or Millwright trade card a plus.</li>
<li>Boiler repair certification a plus.</li>
</ul>
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
<ul><li>Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, occasionally.</li>
<li>Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently.</li>
<li>Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day.</li>
<li>Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages and man lifts at various heights frequently.</li>
</ul>
