In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, administration &amp; maintenance of West Pharma&rsquo;s SQL Server database systems. The candidate should be a subject matter expertise in performance tuning, troubleshooting &amp; pro-active maintenance while ensuring system integrity and maximum availability of the underlying database. Working in a Global environment, the candidate should have a hands-on approach capable of working across teams and time zones.</div></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Essential Duties and Responsibilities</b></h2>
</div><div><ul><li>Manage/Administer West Pharma's portfolio of SQL Server databases globally.</li>
<li>Expertise in all areas of database administration like Installation, Configuration, Client/Server Connectivity, Backup &amp; Recovery etc.</li>
<li>Performing scheduled maintenance &amp; patch deployment to ensure the environment is updated adequately.</li>
<li>Optimization of databases based on growth and capacity management.</li>
<li>Knowledge &amp; experience in setting up High Availability (HA), SQL AON &amp; Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.</li>
<li>Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools</li>
<li>Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.</li>
<li>Experience in automated monitoring of underlying database as part of daily maintenance tasks.</li>
<li>Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.</li>
<li>Experience in Data Migration/Upgrade across different MS SQL server versions.

</div></div><div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Education</b></h2>
</div><div><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s/Post-Graduate degree or equivalent experience.</li>
</ul></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Work Experience</b></h2>
</div><div><ul><li>Minimum 3 years 3-5 years of experience in related fields required</li>
</ul></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</b></h2>
</div><div><ul><li>Subject matter expertise in SQL Server database (2012,2014,2016,2017, 2019, 2022).</li>
<li>Experience with SQL Server DB on Windows (On-premise &amp; Azure).</li>
<li>Experience in Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer, SQL Profiler, SQL Server Configuration Manager, Service Broker, SQL Server audit, Perfmon, SQL Diagnostic Manager etc.</li>
<li>Experience in setting up backups &amp; restore/recovery mechanisms.</li>
<li>Experience in implementation of SQL Server Integration Services SSIS, SQL Server Reporting Services SSRS etc.</li>
<li>Experience in installation, configuration, and administration of SQL workloads on Azure</li>
<li>Experience in automation &amp; development using PL/SQL, Shell, SQL builder, Perl, Windows DOS etc</li>
<li>Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
</li><li>Able to comply with the company&rsquo;s safety policy at all times</li>
<li>Able to comply with the company&rsquo;s quality policy at all times</li>
<li>Strong analytical &amp; problem-solving ability along with excellent communication skills.</li>
<li>Flexibility to work outside of working hours and on-call support.</li>
</ul></div></div><div><div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Physical and Travel Requirements</b></h2>
</div><div><ul><li>15% travel, including global travel</li>
<li>Occasional on-call work required</li>
<li>Prefer 12pm &ndash; 9pm India time. Willingness to work outside of these hours as needed.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Ability to work in a global and virtual environment and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
