 PURPOSE STATEMENT
 
 
 
 A Patient Care Tech assists with nursing care, performs job functions according to specific age and/or developmental needs, and works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Charge Nurse of the unit.
 
 
 
 Essential Functions
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Demonstrate knowledge in patient care i.e.: bathing patients, assisting patients with ambulation and/or transfers, vital signs, and other patient care.
 </li>
 <li>
 Demonstrate positive customer service relations? Routinely participate in Quality Improvement projects and encourage department to continuously improve
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist co-workers as needed/requested
 </li>
 <li>
 Support the Medical Center&rsquo;s Mission/Vision/Philosophy positively
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform other essential duties as assigned.

 Requirements
 
 
 
 
 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 High school diploma or equivalent
 </li>
 <li>
 Certification as Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), preferred. Equivalent experience as a nursing assistant or a current nursing student that has completed the Fundamentals of Nursing is acceptable in lieu of certification.
 </li>
 <li>
 Current BLS, required (can obtain after hire)
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Physical/Mental Requirements
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 12 hours a day.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard.
 </li>
 <li>
 Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.
 </li>
 <li>
 Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing.
 </li>
 <li>
 Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition.
 </li>
 <li>
 Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to lift and/or carry up to 35 lbs.
 </li>
 <li>
 Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces.
 </li>
