SUMMARY
The Senior HR Business Partner works closely with business leaders to ensure that HR strategies are aligned with organizational objectives, resulting in enhanced employee engagement, effective performance management, successful talent acquisition, and impactful development initiatives. Also, actively participate in the development and execution of HR programs, policies, and processes, while cultivating a work environment that encourages positivity and inclusivity. The ideal candidate for this role should have a strong understanding of HR principles, demonstrate exceptional communication skills, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment characterized by continuous transformation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:<ul><li>
Build strong relationships with leaders and managers within assigned business units or functional areas to understand their objectives, challenges, and talent needs.<ul><li>
Offer consultative guidance on performance management, talent management, leadership development, organizational alignment, culture, and employee engagement to support organizational effectiveness.</li></ul></li><li>
Drive leadership development, employee coaching, and performance management initiatives with effectiveness and impact.</li><li>
Take proactive ownership of the strategic people agenda at the functional level, ensuring alignment with the overall People Strategy.
</li><li>Provide support for HR projects and initiatives, including policy development, HR system upgrades, and process improvements.</li><li>
Compile and analyze HR data to create reports and dashboards for HR and business leaders, providing insights and recommendations based on the data.</li><li>
Assist with HR compliance activities, such as data reporting, auditing, and ensuring HR records are maintained in accordance with legal requirements.</li><li>
Stay updated on HR best practices, industry trends, regulatory changes, new technologies to contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes.</li><li>
Ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures, conduct audits, and provide guidance to managers and employees to maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.</li><li>
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Promotes a positive Company image at every opportunity.</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
Bachelor's Degree is required, with a preference for a degree in Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, or a related field in Business Administration.</li><li>
SHRM or HRCI certified professional preferred.</li><li>
8+ years of Human Resources or related experience.</li><li>
Demonstrates knowledge of federal and state employment laws. Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, and policies.</li><li>
Excellent communication and organizational skills; detail oriented.</li><li>
Proficient in MS Office Suite. Intermediate experience in Excel strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability with VLookup and Pivot Tables.</li><li>
Ability to learn new databases and applications is required.</li></ul>
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Significant digital dexterity, e.g. using computer keyboard is required. Use of oral communication to perform work is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an open office concept. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.

SUMMARY
The HR Operations Specialist provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department. This role is pivotal in managing and enhancing operations within HR and improving department efficiency overall. The HR Operations Specialist is often exposed to all areas within human resources and may be asked to assist with a variety of HR related tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:<ul><li>
Manage the end-to-end vendor relationship and coordination of the drug and alcohol screening program, including maintenance of HR contact lists, invoice validation, and preparation and review of reports regarding testing outcomes, vendor performance and compliance metrics.</li><li>
Serve as the point of contact for HR Operations vendors and internal team members: validate incoming vendor invoices for accuracy, enter invoices into the vendor invoice management system, assign appropriate general ledger (GL) account codes and cost centers, research discrepancies, and ensure accurate and timely payments.</li><li>
Act as the primary point of contact for unemployment claims administration. Coordinate with the vendor and with internal HR business partners to facilitate the collection of necessary information and evidence (e.g., termination data, work history, earnings data, etc.).</li><li>
Coordinate with Westlake&rsquo;s designated vendor to ensure timely distribution of HR Compliance notices and posters.</li><li>
Respond to and/or facilitate responses to employment verification requests for current and former Westlake employees.</li><li>
Facilitate bi-weekly HR Business Partner call: solicit topics, maintain Teams meeting distribution list, prepare and distribute meeting minutes.</li><li>
General office administration activities: ordering and managing office supply inventory; handling the opening, sorting, and distribution of HR department mail; coordinating deliveries; answering phone calls and resolving issues or directing callers to applicable HR functional area.</li><li>
Coordinate with various HR functional areas to update and maintain current content and HR contact information on the HR Sharepoint Connect site pages.</li><li>
Coordinate storage and destruction of hard copy HR / Payroll files and records in accordance with document retention regulations and Westlake retention policy.</li><li>
Develop and maintain administrative procedures relative to the functions of this position.</li><li>
Identify and implement process improvements to continuously enhance the efficiency, compliance, and operation of the HR department.</li><li>
Support the execution of HR processes and initiatives for various HR functions, including payroll, benefits, employee relations, people analytics and HRIS activities.</li></ul>
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in human resources related field with 1-2 years of relevant work experience or a minimum of 10 years of equivalent work experience.</li><li>
Strong communication, attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills are crucial. The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment is also important.</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li><li>
Proficient in MS Office Suite and HR information systems. Experience with Workday preferred.</li><li>
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.</li></ul>
