Hours will vary Monday - Friday to support the practical nursing class schedule.This position is responsible to provide a comprehensive learning experience utilizing simulation technology to the students in the Practical Nursing Program.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS<ul><li>Maintain skills and simulation laboratory hours conducive to student scheduling.</li><li>Educate faculty (full and part-time) regarding utilization of simulation lab.</li><li>Coordinate with faculty regarding development and integration of simulation into the curriculum.</li><li>Facilitate the instructional modalities needed to meet the desired outcomes of the simulation.</li><li>Interface with faculty and staff to facilitate optimum functioning of the simulation equipment.</li><li>Provide a safe learning environment that encourages active learning and reflection and supports repetitive practice.</li><li>Provide tutoring support to the Nursing Program students in concert with faculty.</li><li>Foster participant learning by providing appropriate support throughout the simulation activity.</li><li>Act as a resource person for faculty and students relative to the Nursing Skills and Simulation Lab equipment.</li><li>Ensure security of the Nursing Lab and the equipment during assigned work hours.</li><li>Monitor lab supplies inventory in cooperation with faculty.</li><li>Validate each simulation based on current best practice.</li></ul>OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS<ul><li>Accurately maintain records and submit reports as required.</li><li>Maintain and develop work related knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the job through professional development and cross training opportunities.</li><li>Maintain up-to-date with professional credentials, best practices and current disciplines including continued educational requirements through certifications, seminars, training programs, etc.</li><li>Participate in departmental meetings, various committees and professional organizations as required.</li><li>Perform additional grade level duties as assigned.</li></ul>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:<ul><li>BSN required with evidence of a plan for obtaining a graduate degree in nursing within a cumulative period of five years in accordance with the PA State Board of Nursing requirements.</li><li>Prior work performance must have met or exceeded appropriate work standards in current and prior positions.</li></ul>LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:<ul><li>Current Pennsylvania or Multi-State Registered Nurse license required.</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license required.</li></ul>CLEARANCES: The successful candidate will be required to obtain/provide the following clearances prior to hire:<ul><li>PA Child History clearance</li><li>PA Criminal Record Check clearance</li><li>FBI Federal Criminal History Record clearance</li></ul>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:<ul><li>Prolonged sitting</li><li>Frequent standing/walking or moving around</li><li>Repetitive finger/hand movements</li><li>Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.</li><li>Occasional bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching and climbing</li><li>Ability to communicate orally and hear conversation</li><li>ability to hear normal speaking sounds, faint voices, and faint body sounds</li><li>Ability to hear in situations not able to see lips (e.g., when using masks)</li><li>Ability to hear auditory alarms</li><li>Use of computer and internet/internet-based systems</li><li>Reading and preparing documents, reports, presentations, etc.</li><li>Reading and interpreting digital equipment screens</li><li>Ability to see objects as close as 20 inches and as far away as 20 feet</li><li>Work is primarily conducted in a typical indoor health care facility with appropriate lighting, noises, and temperature control</li><li>Standard Industry risk of injury or work-related illnesses</li></ul>Westmoreland County Community College is an EE/AA employer.Job Type: Part-timePay: $35.51 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Employee assistance program</li></ul>Work Location: In person
