In this mid-level role, you will handle day-to-day accounting operations, support financial analysis, and assist with government contract financial tracking. You will work closely with senior management to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with GAAP and federal guidelines. This is an individual contributor role with strong growth potential.<br>

<div></div><div><b>Key Responsibilities</b></div>
<div></div>
<div><b>Accounting Operations</b></div>
<ul><li>Perform daily accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable processing, accounts receivable tracking, and bank reconciliations.</li>
<li>Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting schedules to assist with financial statement preparation.</li>
<li>Support the month-end close process by ensuring timely and accurate account reconciliations.</li>
<li>Maintain clean financial records in accordance with GAAP.</li>
<li>Assist with routine cash management and cash flow monitoring.</li>
<li>Gather documentation and provide support to external auditors during annual financial audits.</li>
<li>Assist in preparing payroll, sales tax filings, and other required regulatory reports.</li>
</ul><div><b>Financial Analysis &amp; Support</b></div>
<ul><li>Help prepare monthly financial reports and budget-to-actual variance analyses.</li>
<li>Provide data and tracking support for annual budgets and periodic forecasts.</li>
<li>Monitor departmental and project expenditures to identify trends or anomalies.</li>
<li>Maintain financial models, spreadsheets, and routine reports to support management decision-making.</li>
</ul>
<div></div><div><b>Government Contract Tracking</b></div>
<ul><li>Update financial tracking reports related to government contracts and projects.</li>
<li>Monitor labor hours and project expenditures to ensure correct allocation and compliance.</li>
<li>Assist senior team members in ensuring adherence to FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirements.</li>
<li>Partner with Project Managers to review and update project cost reports and labor utilization data.</li>
</ul>
<div></div><div><b>Required Qualifications</b></div>
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li>
<li>2 to 4 years of progressive accounting experience.</li>
<li>Solid foundational understanding of GAAP.</li>
<li>Direct experience with general ledger management and month-end close processes.</li>
<li>Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).</li>
<li>Experience using professional accounting ERP systems.</li>
<li>Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.</li>
</ul>
<div></div><div><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></div>
<ul><li>Actively pursuing a CPA or CMA designation.</li>
<li>1+ years of experience working within a government contracting environment.</li>
<li>Familiarity with FAR, CAS, and DCAA guidelines.</li>
<li>Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar ERP software.</li>
<li>Exposure to Power BI or comparable reporting tools.</li>

</ul></div><div><div>WGS Systems, LLC, is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Software Engineer with a background in embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and embedded Linux for United States government and international customers.<br>
</div><div>This position is primarily responsible for researching, designing, and developing computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</div>
<ul><li>System software requirements definition, coordination and compliance, including functional, interface, and communications specifications</li></ul>
<ul><li>Development of device drivers and board support packages for custom processing hardware</li></ul>
<ul><li>Board bring-up and testing on first time custom processing hardware</li></ul>
<ul><li>Design and develop flexible and powerful APIs to support higher level software system integration</li></ul>
<ul><li>Perform system modeling of throughput, processor load, and memory utilization</li></ul>
<ul><li>Software development in C/C++ with strong understanding in object-oriented programming</li></ul>
<ul><li>Create, configure, and maintain embedded Linux systems using both prebuilt Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Arch) and custom built and configured OS (Yocto, OpenWRT)</li></ul>
<ul><li>Have experience with Realtime Operating Systems (RTOS) such as TI-RTOS, FreeRTOS, or others.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Develop test plans and system compliance and acceptance programs for all developed software programs and systems.</li></ul>

<div>Minimum Requirements:</div>
<ul><li>BSCS or equivalent degree with at least 4 years of applicable experience or MS engineering degree with 3 years of applicable embedded software development experience.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to work with minimal supervision and drive the system design from concept to deployment.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Experience in project task planning and possess effective communication, report writing, and presentation skills.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations</li></ul>
<ul><li>Embedded architecture and design patterns</li></ul>
<ul><li>Experience in object-oriented design and program.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Experience in development of embedded software using Linux, MS Windows, VX Works, or equivalent operating systems.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Basic system administration of computers and computer networks.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Candidate <b>must</b> be a United States citizen and will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.</li></ul>

<div>Ideal Requirements:<br>
</div><ul><li>Significant experience configuring Linux build systems such as Yocto, QSDK, or OpenWRT.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Experience with embedded real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS, TI-RTOS (SYS/BIOS).</li></ul>
<ul><li>Some experience with web application frameworks and javascript / TypeScript.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Understanding of C/C++ memory management and POSIX standards</li></ul><div><br>
</div><div>Work environment:<br>
</div><ul><li>Remote work is permitted although some work could be in aircraft hangars and on-board aircraft.</li></ul><div><br>
</div>
<ul><li>Testing may require the candidate to fly on government owned and operated aircraft</li></ul>
<ul><li>A majority of the work will be performed in Frederick, Maryland, with work in other locations in the greater Baltimore, Maryland/Washington, D.C. as required</li></ul>
