Wharton-Smith, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Field Engineer to work in the Water/Wastewater Division in the Baton Rouge, LA area and work on a current project in Jackson, MS. The successful candidate will be responsible for successful completion of field tasks as assigned by the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman.
 
Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Assist Foreman with structure layout</li>
<li>Field purchase orders</li>
<li>Engineering duties as assigned for assistance in planning construction.</li>
<li>Maintain and update project logs and schedules.</li>
<li>Identify need for Requests for Information (RFIs).</li>
<li>Prepare, review and process shop drawings.</li>
<li>Maintain as-built drawings.</li>
<li>Collect and assemble O&M material.</li>
<li>Perform subcontract scope analysis.</li>
<li>Assist with purchasing and expediting.</li>
<li>Document distribution.</li>
<li>Meeting minutes and distribution.</li>
<li>Scheduling.</li>
</ul>
Requirements: 
<ul>
<li>Surveying/layout, technical writing</li>
</ul>
Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>
</ul>
