 💻 Role
 
 
 
 
 We&rsquo;re looking for an experienced and strategic attorney to lead Whatnot&rsquo;s Worldwide litigation, investigations, and regulatory response functions. As Litigation Counsel, you&rsquo;ll own strategy and execution for all contentious matters &mdash; from high-stakes commercial disputes to regulatory investigations and enforcement actions.
 
 
 This leader will work cross-functionally with Legal, Public Policy, Trust &amp; Risk, and Communications teams to manage litigation risk, ensure consistency in regulatory responses, and support Whatnot&rsquo;s continued growth in a fast-evolving regulatory landscape.
 
 
 You&rsquo;ll work closely with external counsel to ensure Whatnot is well-positioned across civil litigation, consumer protection, intellectual property, privacy, and broader platform and marketplace issues.
 
 
 
 Litigation Leadership
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Lead strategy and oversight for all litigation and pre-litigation disputes, including commercial, IP, consumer, employment, and class action matters.
 </li>

 Manage and coordinate outside counsel, ensuring alignment with company objectives and cost efficiency.
 </li>

 Serve as the primary internal advisor on litigation risk, case management, and discovery practices.

 Regulatory &amp; Enforcement Response
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Direct Whatnot&rsquo;s response to regulatory inquiries and investigations (e.g., FTC, DOJ, SEC, state attorneys general, local regulators).
 </li>

 Partner with internal teams to conduct fact-finding, draft responses, and manage deadlines under time-sensitive and high-profile conditions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Advise senior leadership on enforcement trends and potential exposure areas.

 Cross-Functional Collaboration
 
 
 
 <ul>

 Collaborate with Public Policy, Trust &amp; Risk, and Communications to develop scalable processes for responding to regulatory requests and subpoenas.

 Support proactive engagement with regulators and industry associations on emerging marketplace and consumer protection issues.

 Partner with Product, Operations, and Communications to ensure consistent messaging and mitigation of litigation and enforcement risk.

 Provide guidance on new product launches and strategic initiatives with potential litigation or regulatory implications.

 Minimum

 J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.

 10+ years of experience handling complex litigation, investigations, and enforcement matters, ideally at a leading law firm and/or technology company.

 Demonstrated success managing external counsel and coordinating across multiple internal stakeholders.

Role
</h2>As a Brand Media Manager, you&rsquo;ll shape how the world discovers and understands Whatnot. You&rsquo;ll drive brand awareness through thoughtful, high-impact media investments that build emotional connection and spotlight what makes Whatnot unique. Paired with our ongoing performance marketing efforts, your work will accelerate buyer and seller growth while strengthening brand consideration at scale.
In this role, you&rsquo;ll own planning, buying, and optimization across all brand media channels &mdash; Digital, TV, Audio, OOH &mdash; and operate as the connector across Performance Marketing, Brand, Creative, and agency partners. You&rsquo;ll report to the Head of Performance Marketing.
We&rsquo;re remote-first, but this role requires being within commuting distance of one of our office hubs: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, or New York City.<ul><li>
Lead planning, buying, and optimization of all brand media campaigns.</li><li>
Serve as the primary DRI for our brand media agency: manage SOWs, oversee creative-to-media workflows, and drive weekly reporting and performance reviews.</li><li>
Partner with agency teams to develop channel strategies, integration plans, and tactical recommendations aligned to business briefs and audience goals.</li><li>
Deliver clear, executive-ready reporting with insights, recommendations, and forward-looking guidance.</li><li>
Act as the subject matter expert for Whatnot&rsquo;s brand and products, ensuring paid media strategies ladder up to broader GTM objectives.</li><li>
Partner with Data Science on market based lift measurement, upper funnel attribution, and accounting for any downstream impact on Performance campaigns.</li><li>
Align Creative and Strategy teams to ensure brand content is measurable and drives quantifiable lift.</li><li>
Support all event based marketing (eg. OPE, Seasonal Events) through paid channels and the affiliate program.</li><li>
Establish new processes &amp; playbooks required to optimize internal cross-functional team operations and with external agency partners, and develop best practices.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
You
</h2><ul><li>6+ years managing and executing strategic &amp; tactical, large-scale advertising campaigns across brand media channels (e.g., Digital, TV, Audio, and OOH).</li><li>
Hands-on experience with paid media planning, buying, and optimization &mdash; agency or in-house &mdash; ideally within a high-growth consumer brand.</li><li>
Strong written and verbal communicator who can distill complex work for executives, cross-functional partners, and external agencies.</li><li>
Highly analytical with comfort diving into data, interpreting complex analyses, and translating findings into actionable recommendations.</li><li>
Collaborative, with experience partnering across matrixed marketing teams and influencing without authority.</li><li>
A creative and entrepreneurial mindset - you enjoy tackling unsolved problems, building new processes and ways of thinking, and finding creative solutions.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Compensation</h2>
$165,000/year to $195,000/year + benefits + equity.
The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills, and expertise.
