Position Summary
Examines and treats patients with breathing-related conditions, performs diagnostic testing, and collaborates with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans. Provides patient education on therapies and medication use; performs physiotherapy and related treatments. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.<ul><li>
Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer; may perform bedside PFTs, EKGs, and tobacco-cessation education as ordered.</li><li>
Delivers ordered respiratory therapies; monitors, records, and communicates patient condition and response to treatment.</li><li>
Responds to codes and emergent calls; assesses patient condition and provides appropriate interventions.</li><li>
Evaluates and contributes to respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices.</li><li>
Educates patients and families on illness, treatments, device use, and community resources.</li><li>
Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory supplies and medical gas cylinders; maintains storage areas and equipment readiness.</li><li>
Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, performs preventive maintenance, and calibrates respiratory equipment.</li><li>
Performs all responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.</li><li>
Participates in performance improvement and required education.</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul> 
What we're looking for:<ul><li>
Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Respiratory Therapy</li><li>
License: Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in state of practice</li><li>
Certifications: BCLS</li></ul>
