We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team to support HR, safety and training.
Position Overview:
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for supporting day-to-day HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, payroll and compliance. This role also plays a key part in promoting workplace safety by assisting with safety programs, incident tracking, and OSHA compliance. Additionally, the HR Generalist will support employee training initiatives to ensure workforce development and adherence to operational standards. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Collaborate with Company leadership across departments to understand the skills and competencies required for the diverse company positions. Update job descriptions as necessary</li><li>
Facilitate the filling of open positions, utilizing a variety of methods to source qualified applicants. Complete the interview process, involving department managers.</li><li>
Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation</li><li>
Manage medical and personal leaves of absences under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state laws and Company policy</li><li>
Oversee the plant payroll including timecards, employee time-off, and attendance</li><li>
Administer company benefits, including enrollments and/or terminations</li><li>
Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees. Collaborate with HR Director on complex and/or sensitive matters</li><li>
Participate in disciplinary meetings, investigations,terminations. Retain records of all, according to standard practices</li><li>
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment lawsregulations, and recommended best practices. Review policies and practices to maintain compliance</li><li>
Oversee worker's compensation cases including communication with the insurance company and injured employees</li><li>
Maintain plant OSHA log</li><li>
Support EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) with initiatives to improve health and safety in the facility</li><li>
Perform other duties as assigned</li></ul>
Qualifications:<ul><li>
Bachelor's degree preferred</li><li>
3+ years Human Resources experience</li><li>
PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus</li><li>
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and email</li><li>
Ability to quickly learn HRIS systems</li><li>
Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations</li><li>
Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills</li><li>
Understanding of recruiting practices, employee relations, payroll, and benefits administration</li><li>
Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred</li><li>
Capacity to perform work accurately and thoroughly, seeing both the details and the big picture</li><li>
Ability to take care of company needs while following company procedures, sometimes involving outside the box thinking</li><li>
Robust interpersonal, negotiation, analytical and conflict resolution skills. Adept at clear and succinct written communication. Confidently verbalizes in a thoughtful, professional, and respectful manner</li><li>
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, while remaining calm under stress</li><li>
People focused with a genuine interest in listening, empathizing, and offering solutions when possible</li><li>
Excellent organizationaltime management skills, and attention to detail, with a proven ability to meet deadlines</li><li>
Must be open and flexible to ideas and/or best practices from management and peers; a team player who is willingable to adapt their approach across a diverse employee base</li></ul></div>
