 . As a Commercial Counsel at Wing, you'll tackle exciting legal challenges at the forefront of Wing&rsquo;s drone delivery services. You'll collaborate with various teams across the company to shape innovative solutions and work with cutting-edge aviation technology as you streamline processes and shape Wing's future. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating the legal landscape of a rapidly evolving industry, helping to define the rules of the sky as we build the future of logistics.
 
 
 
 What You&rsquo;ll Do
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Advise cross-functional teams on a wide range of legal matters, including complex agreements, intellectual property, data privacy, regulatory compliance, and strategic transactions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Lead the review, drafting, and negotiation of Wing&rsquo;s agreements, including NDAs, inbound services and SOWs, SaaS, partnerships, and strategic alliances. Ensure agreements are aligned with Wing's business objectives, policies, and risk tolerance.
 </li>
 <li>
 Drive legal agreements to completion while working cross-functionally and soliciting input, feedback and approvals from business stakeholders as appropriate.
 </li>
 <li>
 Lead initiatives to centralize and standardize procurement processes across Wing, implementing best practices and improving efficiency. Develop and implement scalable legal processes or streamline existing practices to support Wing's rapid growth.
 </li>
 <li>
 Own, improve and/or develop contract processes, policies, procedures and templates to help Wing grow and scale.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks, providing guidance on compliance with US and international laws related to privacy, data protection, employment, and intellectual property.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., finance, security, product, and engineering) to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate legal and business risks across the organization.
 </li>
 <li>
 Act as a key legal business partner, advising senior leaders and cross-functional teams on legal risks and opportunities related to new products and offerings, market expansion, and strategic initiatives
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 What You&rsquo;ll Need
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 6+ years of relevant legal experience; in-house experience a plus.
 </li>
 <li>
 Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in good standing with at least one state bar.
 </li>
 <li>
 A proactive, hands-on approach, ready to tackle pressing business issues.
 </li>
 <li>
 Adept at breaking down complex legal questions and prioritizing issues.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to translate legal rules into clear, practical, and actionable advice for business teams.
 </li>
 <li>
 Confidence to make sound judgment calls with conviction, recognizing when to escalate issues.
 </li>
 <li>
 Responsive, solution-oriented attitude with strong organizational skills to manage competing deadlines.
 </li>
 <li>
 Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce cogent legal deliverables and deep dive into critical questions.

 <li>
 Comfort navigating ambiguity, managing work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and consistently delivering on commitments.

 </ul>

 This role will directly contribute to building and scaling the systems that enable safe and efficient drone operations worldwide, specifically focusing on our commercially-facing services and uncrewed air traffic management. You'll work on complex challenges at the forefront of aviation and technology, helping to get Wing's drone delivery into the hands of more partners and customers.  What You&rsquo;ll Do

 System Design &amp; Development: Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain large-scale, distributed software systems including: asynchronous pipelines, database systems, RPC handlers in collaboration with frontend engineers and backend engineers, in a privacy and security conscious ecosystem.
 </li>

 Performance &amp; Reliability: Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, implement monitoring solutions, and improve system reliability, availability, and latency.
 </li>
 <li>
 Incident Response &amp; On-Call: Mitigate, root cause and resolve urgent, time sensitive issues, in both familiar and unfamiliar software, as part of an on-call rotation, or other escalations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate cross functionally with product managers, and program managers to design, implement and quickly launch new features for partners and end consumers.
 </li>
 <li>
 Team Culture: Contribute to team culture of support, engagement and quality, ensuring Wing can scale as a business.

 What You&rsquo;ll Need
 
 
 
 <ul>

 1-6 years of experience designing and developing backend software.
 </li>
 <li>
 A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar degree (or equivalent experience).
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficiency in C++, or ability to quickly pick up C++ with experience in similar languages like Java, or C.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent written and verbal skills and experience working in a collaborative team.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to identify challenging problems and potential solutions with guidance from a mentor, and work toward them with a high degree of independence.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience developing backend systems involving database schema design, and synchronous/asynchronous systems.
