We believe that great apples make great ciders and we source as many apples as we can from Kentucky, but we also seek out harder to find, cider-specific apples from our neighbors in Ohio and Virginia when we need to. We believe in being good people, hiring good people and that giving back to our community makes our world a better place.Job DetailsWe are seeking taproom staff who love serving people, working closely in a team environment and who bring energy and enthusiasm for craft cider. We serve our ciders along with cocktails, beer, and food. We need people that are eager to tell our story, share knowledge about our products and how cider is made, and who will engage the community to help make cider more well known. It&rsquo;s essential that our taproom staff are excited about learning about our style of hard cider, are able to describe our products to customers, and can help connect our products and story to the taproom experience. It is also essential that our taproom staff be able to make a few cocktails and be able to talk about and sell food. We want this place to be the most kick-ass, friendliest craft beverage place around!Key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:<ul><li>Serve visitors to our taproom with a positive and friendly demeanor</li><li>Educate consumers on our ciders (differences between the products and the history of cider), cocktails, local beers and Little Fork&rsquo;s food menu.</li><li>Share our story with your customers</li><li>Encourage customers to return through offer of participation in loyalty and community programs</li><li>Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience by focusing on guests at the bar, out in the taproom and out on the patio.</li><li>Clean and clear bar, tables and floor</li><li>Adhere to all opening and closing duties</li><li>Assist with general cleaning of taproom and back of house areas to maintain a clean work environment</li><li>Load dishwasher and run as needed</li><li>Stock glassware, bar supplies and merchandise during shift as needed</li><li>Ability to stay busy and use your time meaningfully during slow periods</li><li>Assist guests with the purchase of merchandise and bottled cider in addition to food and drinks.</li><li>Follow and enforce all ABC regulations for over serving and underage drinking</li><li>Follow and comply with all relevant Health Department and food safety regulations</li><li>Prepare and serve food menu items as needed from time to time</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>You are passionate about craft cider. Please do not apply if you are unable to have a detailed conversation about craft cider in an interview.</li><li>You LOVE hospitality and have experience working in the hospitality industry, preferably in a brewery, winery, cidery, restaurant or bar.</li><li>Thorough knowledge of ABC rules and regulations at a City and State level. If not yet STAR certified, willingness to do so prior to beginning employment</li><li>Ability to work on nights and weekends</li><li>Experience using POS systems</li><li>Proven track record: stable record of success in the past hospitality jobs you&rsquo;ve had (or a good reason why it didn&rsquo;t work out!)</li><li>Awesome references</li><li>Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move full kegs using materials handling equipment</li><li>Food Handler certification valid in Lexington or willingness to obtain it prior to beginning employment</li><li>STAR certified (or similar approved KY ABC alcohol server certification)</li></ul>Job Type: Part-timePay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Employee discount</li><li>Flexible schedule</li></ul>Work Location: In person
