Overview We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Desktop Support Technician to join our IT support team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for end-users experiencing technical issues, providing expert assistance to ensure seamless computer and device operation across the organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, technology-driven setting while making a tangible impact on daily business operations.Duties<ul><li>Deliver prompt and professional technical support to users via help desk tickets, phone, email, or in person, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve software problems across various operating systems including Windows and macOS, ensuring minimal downtime.</li><li>Manage computer hardware including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals; perform upgrades and repairs as needed.</li><li>Assist with software installation, configuration, updates, and patch management using tools such as SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) and GPO (Group Policy Objects).</li><li>Support network connectivity issues by diagnosing TCP/IP configurations, DNS settings, LAN/WAN connections, VPN access, firewall configurations, and network security protocols like Meraki.</li><li>Maintain and support IT infrastructure components such as Windows Server environments, Active Directory accounts, DNS records, and Linux systems when applicable.</li><li>Monitor and manage computer management tools like BMC Remedy and ServiceNow to track incidents and service requests efficiently.</li><li>Configure and support mobile devices and ensure secure access through VPNs while maintaining security standards with firewalls and network policies.</li><li>Assist in the deployment of new hardware/software solutions; perform system imaging and asset management tasks.</li><li>Collaborate with team members on network administration tasks including TCP/IP troubleshooting, LAN setup, and network security enhancements.</li><li>Document all support activities thoroughly; generate reports on incident resolution times and recurring issues to identify areas for improvement.</li><li>Communicate clearly with users at all levels; translate technical language into understandable terms to foster positive customer service experiences.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience providing technical support in a help desk or desktop support role with a strong understanding of troubleshooting hardware/software issues.</li><li>Proficiency in operating systems such as Microsoft Windows (including Windows Server), macOS, and Linux environments.</li><li>Solid knowledge of computer networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, LAN/WAN architecture, VPNs, firewalls (e.g., Meraki), and network security best practices.</li><li>Experience with enterprise management tools like SCCM for software deployment and GPO for policy enforcement.</li><li>Familiarity with Active Directory administration for user account management; experience with BMC Remedy or ServiceNow is a plus.</li><li>Ability to troubleshoot computer hardware components effectively; experience with mobile device support is desirable.</li><li>Strong analysis skills to diagnose complex issues quickly; excellent communication skills to assist end-users confidently.</li><li>Knowledge of IT infrastructure components including Microsoft Office suite applications; familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server environments is advantageous.</li><li>Understanding of network administration principles such as TCP/IP configuration and LAN setup is essential.</li><li>Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment; flexibility to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
