Overview: 
The Neonatologist will provide comprehensive inpatient care for newborns in Level II and Level III NICUs within Solara Neonatal&rsquo;s integrated perinatal network. As part of Arizona&rsquo;s only vertically integrated Neonatology&ndash;MFM&ndash;OB partnership, this role offers the opportunity to practice within a collaborative model designed to optimize perinatal outcomes, reduce fragmentation, and elevate the standard of newborn care. The ideal candidate is a board-certified or board-eligible Neonatologist with a passion for innovation, evidence-based medicine, and teamwork. 
Responsibilities:
Clinical Care:<ul><li>
Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to neonates in Level II and Level III NICUs across Solara&rsquo;s hospital network.</li><li>
Perform initial assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage the ongoing care of premature and critically ill newborns.</li><li>
Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate with APPs, nurses, and consulting subspecialists to ensure comprehensive patient management.</li></ul>
Call Coverage:<ul><li>
Provide home call coverage with a 30-minute response time while supported by experienced in-house Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).</li><li>
Ensure continuity and quality of care during call shifts across multiple practice sites.</li></ul>
Collaboration and Communication:<ul><li>
Work closely with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) and Obstetric teams to coordinate seamless perinatal care from pregnancy through delivery and postnatal follow-up.</li><li>
Maintain clear and timely communication with families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and ongoing care needs.</li><li>
Support a collegial and collaborative team culture that values stewardship, curiosity, and mutual growth.</li></ul>
Education and Mentorship:<ul><li>
Provide education and mentorship to APPs, residents, and nursing staff as part of a learning-oriented clinical environment.</li><li>
Participate in simulation, case reviews, and quality-improvement education sessions.</li></ul>
Quality Improvement and Program Development:<ul><li>
Engage in departmental initiatives aimed at improving neonatal outcomes, enhancing safety, and refining operational efficiency.</li><li>
Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines, protocols, and data-driven performance metrics.</li></ul>
Leadership and Growth Opportunities:<ul><li>
Pursue leadership roles in quality improvement, education, or program development for those interested in advancing within the organization.</li><li>
Collaborate on projects that expand and shape the future of neonatal care within the Solara model.</li></ul> 
Schedule and Work Environment:<ul><li>
Rotating 1&ndash;2 week blocks across multiple NICU sites, offering both variety and continuity of care.</li><li>
Predictable, team-designed scheduling with approximately 178 days off per year (~6 months).</li><li>

Requirements: 
<ul><li>
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.</li><li>
Completion of an accredited pediatric residency program.</li><li>
Fellowship training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine from an ACGME-accredited program.</li><li>
Board certification or board eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.</li><li>
Current, unrestricted medical license (or eligibility for licensure) to practice in the state of Arizona.</li><li>
DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.</li><li>
Strong clinical skills and experience in neonatal intensive care and delivery room management.</li><li>
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.</li><li>
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.</li><li>
Commitment to evidence-based, family-centered care and continuous quality improvement.</li></ul></div>
