Role Purpose:
Steel will play a pivotal role in the global energy transition and will be an integral part of solar panels, wind turbines, electric vehicles, dams, etc. In parallel the industry will also create a number of opportunities for newer technologies and energy products especially hydrogen as it decarbonizes.
Industry stakeholders across the steel and raw materials value chain will need to understand the key drivers and trends impacting the industry in both the near term and long term. Miners, steelmakers, traders, logistics providers, investment bank, and financial institutions will need to be well versed with research and analytics for more informed decision making.
The Senior Research Analyst &ndash; Steel and Raw Materials will apply solid analytical capabilities and knowledge to enhance Wood Mackenzie's analysis and services to customers.
Reporting directly to the Head of Steel and Raw Materials, you will be responsible for developing a good understanding of our clients&rsquo; interests and provide frequent, rigorous, and sharply written analysis as part of our publication schedules. You will also lead innovative and differentiated trends, insights, and thought leadership articles and publications. The analyst will communicate regularly with clients as well as internal stakeholders, sharing our views and engaging in mutually beneficial communication. 
Main Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Deliver comprehensive coverage of the Asia steel and iron ore sectors.</li><li>
Author regular publications providing our near-term and long-term outlook</li><li>
Analyse decarbonisation trends shaping the steel and raw materials industry and lead our coverage on DRI.</li><li>
Author differentiated market analysis and thought leadership pieces on topical themes surrounding the ferrous space.</li><li>
Develop and maintain contacts with industry stakeholders to gather intelligence that will enrich the quality and timeliness of our research solutions.</li><li>
Effectively communicate our research and analysis to clients.</li><li>
Work closely with colleagues in allied groups like energy to help shape the company&rsquo;s integrated view.</li></ul>
About You / Qualifications:<ul><li>
Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Mining/ Geology/ Metallurgical Engineering or Economics/ Business etc.)</li><li>
Detailed knowledge of ferrous industry especially steel, iron ore, and the wider metals industry</li><li>
Excellent numerical analytic capabilities, including problem-solving and technical skills in Excel</li><li>
Systemic work-load management and planning skills</li><li>
The ability to work as part of a team, which will involve multiple locations and time zones</li><li>
Good networked in the industry with contacts across the value chain</li><li>
A strong commitment to commercial excellence and ability to deliver the high-quality standards</li><li>
Experience of managing clients in ferrous value chain.</li></ul>

Role Purpose:
We monitor key events and conduct research to produce thought-provoking reports, data models, and presentations. From asset valuation to corporate reports, from market supply-demand research to price-forecasting, and from the regional to the global, our analysis helps shape our customers&rsquo; commercial strategies.
We also support bespoke consulting projects, diving deeper into our data to answer unique questions. We help our Sales team retain and win new business by spending time with customers and answering questions that matter to them. We work closely with colleagues in our Data and Product functions to maintain the quality of our published data and to deliver content via our growing Lens platform.
Through carrying out primary research, responding to customer questions, and presenting to industry stakeholders, you will build relationships and a network of contacts at key operators, national bodies, and other relevant institutions. Over time you will gain specialist knowledge and develop the skills you require to progress your career at Wood Mackenzie.
Main Responsibilities:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Analyst to join our oil product markets and refining team. The main focus of the role will be and build out forecasts over the next two years for oil product supply and prices. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about the future of the oil market and how it will develop in the coming decades to meet the needs of society in a sustainable manner. The successful candidate will join a global team of analysts and industry experts undertaking fundamental research and modelling of all aspects of the oil and chemicals value chains. The role offers the opportunity to develop modelling and forecasting techniques and industry knowledge through regular interaction with other members of the global Oils and Chemicals team. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with cross-functional research teams to integrate perspectives on how refineries are evolving in response to the energy transition, lead the analysis of oil refining assets, and provide strategic insights to our clients via presentations, webinars, or emails, in a prompt and professional manner.

About You:
You have a keen interest in the Oil Refining and refined products markets industry, and you want to develop an in-depth understanding of how these markets underpin the natural resources industry and impact our everyday lives. An understanding of oil market dynamics including fundamentals and pricing - as someone with a keen interest in oil/ chemical market dynamics, you want to understand how these markets impact the natural resources industry and our everyday lives. You can undertake analysis of the oil/ chemical markets to develop an integrated outlook for the refining sector. You can generate short-term and long-term forecasts by analysing market developments and contributing to regular research reports working as part of a global team.</li><li>
Analytical mindset and eye for detail - You're comfortable collecting and interpreting data, articulating your findings clearly, and seeking to enhance your knowledge by asking thoughtful questions. You can develop compelling narratives from researched/ available data points to present a strong view of the current market scenario and write insightful commentary on the challenges and opportunities for the oil/ chemical markets. You can maintain and develop data models, methodology and other intellectual property related to the industry. Role Purpose
The role sits within the MENA Account Management sales team, driving subscription renewals, cross-sell opportunities and developing new customer sales; measured by sales results.
