Background and Purpose of the Assignment:<br>
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading Humanitarian Organization fighting hunger and changing lives worldwide, delivering food assistance in emergencies, and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. In Egypt, WFP is committed to supporting the Government&rsquo;s priorities towards the achievement of the SDGs. WFP&rsquo;s current five-year Country Strategic Plan (CSP) is designed in a way to fully support Egypt&rsquo;s vision 2030 and ensure food and nutrition security for all Egyptians, as enshrined in both the Constitution and the country&rsquo;s commitment to the Global Sustainable Development Agenda.</div><div><br>
The CSP focuses on five interrelated thematic areas:<br>
<ul><li>Support and complement the Government&rsquo;s social protection programs.</li><li>Support the refugees and migrants through food assistance and resilience building.</li><li>Improve the nutritional status of Egyptians with a focus on Pregnant and Lactating Women and infants under two years of age.</li><li>Support resilience of vulnerable smallholder farmers and Bedouin communities in Upper Egypt and frontier Governorates.</li><li>Provide capacity strengthening to the Government and support South-South cooperation between Egypt and neighbor countries.</li></ul></div><div><br>
Job Purpose:<br>
To meet the needs of the beneficiaries it serves with the most effective support, be it in-kind food, cash, vouchers, or a combination of all three.</div><div><br>
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:<br>
The Data analyst/ architect will work within the Programme Team in WFP Egypt Country Office in support of its Cash-Based Transfers operations implementing the following:<br>
1. Beneficiary data management for all beneficiaries.<br>
2. Support the definition and roll out Cash Base Transfer data management for the Egypt Country Office CBT unit based on.<br>
3. Mapping of data flows and existing systems within WFP CO on beneficiary information (identities, enrollment, payment, reconciliation and monitoring) and with external databases.<br>
4. Establish/ advise/maintain secure data repositories and secure data sharing platforms that provide the means to upload and access beneficiary information from various sources and receive reports from partners and FSPs for reconciliation and reporting, including defining access and user roles.</div><div>
5. Generate reports including Monthly Payment List Memo, Reload Memo (where relevant), Reconciliation Memo (for all modalities) and any other reports based on programme need.<br>
6. Deduplication: based on existing data and processes, assess deduplication needs (for both internal and external/government lists).<br>
7. Support with technical inputs to the country office digitization strategy, which includes supporting efforts to ensure interoperation ability between WFP MIS (SCOPE), and government owned platforms.<br>
8. Support in other data analyst tasks for the vulnerability-based targeting data collection, data management and data verification exercises.<br>
9. Support the roll-out of data management initiatives aiming to improve,<br>
streamline and harmonize the flow of EG CO operational information across BI/Tableau dashboards including mapping of data sources and users&rsquo; needs.<br>
10. Troubleshoot integration issues between SAP HANA and DOTS, API Gateway, Tableau and Scope systems</div><div></div><div>
Core competencies expected for the job:<br>

Programme Lifecycle &amp;Food Assistance: Demonstrates ability to identify key variables and contextual<br>
factors that affect food assistance problems and programmes throughout the lifecycle to inform quality programme design or re-design.</div><div>
Transfer Modalities (Food, Cash, Voucher): Demonstrates ability to analyse and consolidate quantitative and qualitative information from different sources (e.g., market studies) to inform transfer modality selection and programme development.<br>
Emergency/transitional Programming: Displays capacity to provide inputs into the development, implementation and realignment of high-quality emergency programmes.<br>
Broad Knowledge of Specialized Areas: Understands basic technical concepts and data and their relevance to food assistance programmes.</div><div><br>
Desired Experiences for entry of the role:<br>
<ul><li>Good understanding of Data Science.</li><li>Good understanding of operational programme data needs in complex environments.</li><li>Good understanding of Cash Based transfer programming and reporting.</li></ul></div><div></div><div>
Qualifications &amp; Experience Required:</div><div><br>
Education: University degree in Information Management, information systems, or related field or a First level. University degree in any of these fields combined with three additional years.</div><div><br>
Experience Knowledge &amp; Skills:<br>
<ul><li>At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in data science.</li><li>Demonstrated interest and/or experience in humanitarian and development work.</li><li>Specific experience in the design, set-up, and implementation of data systems.</li><li>Proven capacity to support data and digital strategies in complex operational</li></ul>
environments.<br>
<ul><li>MS package and knowledge in database management.</li></ul></div><div><br>
Languages: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.</div><div></div><div>

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:</div><div>
The Medical Officer shall be appointed as an additional staff for areas of staff health and safety to support WFP staff and offices, medical support during emergencies, process medico-administrative requests and will cover the region in the absence of the RMO.</div><div></div><div>
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:</div><div></div><div>
Under the functional supervision and guidance of the Regional Medical Officer, the Medical Officer will be responsible for the following key duties.</div><ul><li>
The medical officer is NOT the primary care physician of WFP Staff: however, s/he does provide pre-hospital emergency services in response to accidents occurring in the workplace or provide referral to appropriate medical specialist.</li><li>
Contribute to the design and coordination of the delivery of medical services in the region for efficient and effective promotion, prevention and protection of the health and safety of WFP staff following the Wellness Strategy and the Regional Strategic objective.</li><li>
Provide technical expertise, advice and solutions that support strategic results, and contribute to the formulation of regional strategies and approaches where appropriate.</li><li>
Provide travel medicine services for staff on official travel, incorporating destination-specific health advice, facilitating access to immunization, prophylactic medications and travel medical kits.</li><li>
Manage, advise, and report on all health matters related to staff including compliance to all UN medical protocols and recommendations</li></ul><ul><li>
Access and liaise with local medical facilities to ascertain proper medical care rendered and establish a referral list and updated list of reasonable and customary costs, whilst monitoring and verifying appropriateness, reasonableness and customary nature of major medical bills / treatment as required.</li><li>
Provide capacity to the corporate and WFP system emergency response capacity including mass casualty incident.</li><li>
Implement staff health training</li><li>
Participate in pre planning of WFPs Emergency response operations (</li><li>
Propose, assess, update as needed SOPs for staff protection, in specific higher risk occupational settings (e.g. food distributions, ports and warehouses with casual laborers, drivers and cleaners).</li><li>
Identify (confidentially) staff with stress or other psychological concerns and coordinate assistance as appropriate with Regional Staff Counsellor and the UNDSS Counselor.</li></ul><div></div><div>
QUALIFICATIONS &amp; EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:</div><div>
Education:</div><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in medicine.</li><li>
Postgraduate medical qualification in, preferably, one of the following medical specialties; emergency medicine, internal medicine, occupational health and safety, and/or public health is a plus.</li></ul><div></div><div>
Experience Knowledge &amp; Skills:</div><ul><li>
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare.</li><li>
Demonstrates professional competence and mastery of subject matter.</li><li>
Excellent communication, presentation and drafting skills.</li><li>
Ability to develop, training programmes, workshops and presentations.</li><li>
Experience in emergency management (crisis or disaster medicine), travel medicine, tropical and infectious disease.</li><li>
Knowledge of addressing the psychosocial needs of humanitarian workers.</li><li>
Formal training in CPR and, preferably in BCLS and ACLS or equivalent emergency medical care.</li><li>
Shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges.</li><li>
Successfully manages projects from initiation through completion, ensuring objectives are met.</li><li>
Consistently fulfills commitments, adheres to deadlines, and delivers high-quality results.</li><li>
Maintains composure and effectiveness in high-pressure or stressful situations.</li><li>
Current registered to practice medicine in own country or another UN member state is required.</li><li>
