POSITION SUMMARY:</b></div><div>
World Relief is seeking an Immigration Legal Services Attorney to serve the
</div><div>World Relief Chicagoland Immigration Legal Services (ILS) department. The department provides low-cost immigration legal counsel and representation to the immigrant community and is looking to expand its legal team. As a licensed attorney this position will be trained in immigration legal matters particularly related to the refugee population in order to provide direct legal counsel and representation to mainly refugees with the possibility of other immigrants as relevant. This position will be based in the Chicago office in Albany Park providing direct legal services, with possible initial in person training period in the Carol Stream location dependent upon experience.</div><br>

ROLE &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></h3><ul><li><b>
Immigration Legal Training
</b></li><li>Participate in Immigration law trainings relevant to experience and needed expertise
</li><li>Case management training on LawLogix as well as the case management protocols of the ILS department of World Relief Chicagoland
</li><li>Actively engage in ongoing immigration legal trainings, webinars, roundtables, and research in order to maintain the necessary knowledge and experience under the oversight of the Supervising Attorney
</li><li>Participate in weekly application case review time and case questions meetings</li></ul><div></div><ul><li><b><br>
Immigration Legal Counsel and Representation
</b></li><li>Legally screen and advise clients regarding immigration benefits and remedies available under the INA, CFR, and relevant government agency policies
</li><li>Prepare immigration paperwork and write legal briefs, sign G-28s, and follow-up as needed
</li><li>Represent clients in person at USCIS adjudication interviews
</li><li>Zealously advocate for clients with relevant government actors
</li><li>Comply with WR Chicagoland ILS best practice case management rules, policies and procedures and legal ethics under the oversight of the Supervising Attorney
</li><li>Manage a case load of pending immigration cases
</li><li>Specific projects as assigned by the ILS Director, Supervising Attorney, or ILS Manager</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
JOB REQUIREMENTS:</b></h3><ul><li>
Mature and personal Christian faith</li><li>
Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief</li><li>
Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities</li><li>
Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document</li><li>
Experience preparing and successfully representing affirmative asylum cases</li><li>
Cross-cultural experience including cross-cultural communication skills
</li><li>Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish is required
</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and flexibility to work in a frequently changing environment
</li><li>Committed to developing and investing in a strong ILS team speaking and writing skills preferred</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</b></h3><ul><li>
Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish is preferred
</li><li>Cross-cultural experience including cross-cultural communication skills
</li><li>J.D. and commitment to attending CLE trainings and maintaining good standing with the State Bar</li></ul><div>
