<div>Are you an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced personal injury paralegal? You might be an excellent fit for our busy personal injury law firm. You will draft briefs, create legal documents such as affidavits, do legal research for trial preparation, and maintain case files and other critical materials organized and easily accessible. We need someone with experience ordering, reviewing, and summarizing medical materials to produce a factual response to discovery. You will also have expertise assisting with family settlement discussions and mediation in order to prevent litigation. $55,000 - $65,000+ Yearly DOE other benefits available
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Set up a system of filing for our cases that is well-organized and easy to navigate, and other related admin duties</li>
<li>Request, interpret, and summarize medical records to come up with a factual answer to discovery requests</li>
<li>Talk with service providers or insurers about possible settlements for liens, bills, and medical expenses</li>
<li>Produce legal documents, letters, and pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the supervision of a lawyer</li>
<li>Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by researching legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, submitting motions, and aiding with client meetings</li>
</ul><ul><li>Handle significant pre-litigation caseload from file setup and intake through demand negotiation, settlement, lien negotiation, etc.</li><li>
Handle moderate litigation cases as needed; drafting pleadings, discovery requests, disclosure statements, etc.</li><li>
Making and receiving calls, case-related calls.</li><li>
Drafting letters and other documents related to balances, medical records, etc.</li><li>
Organizing, reviewing, and summarizing medical records.</li><li>
Filing, Calendaring, and other clerical and/or case-related duties.</li><li>
Support attorneys with all aspects of case management, including billing, docketing deadlines, and providing reminders as needed.</li><li>
Interface with staff, attorneys, and outside vendors to manage the law firm&rsquo;s case load, present case summaries/updates, and ensure that deadlines are met.</li><li>
Complete legal research to obtain documentation regarding medical records, health insurance, social security, and medical providers.</li><li>
Inform clients and outside counsel on case status as requested.</li><li>
Draft legal documents for attorney review.</li></ul>
Qualifications:<ul><li>
Talented verbal communicator and writer</li>
<li>Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate&rsquo;s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred</li>
<li>Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills</li>
<li>Must have 3-5 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer, preferably in a personal injury law firm</li>
<li>NALA (National Association of Legal Assistants) certification program completion is strongly preferred</li>
</ul><ul><li>Candidate must have at least two years of Plaintiff Personal Injury experience.</li><li>
Must be able to work in an office setting - this is an in-office position.</li><li>
Hardworking, Team player. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.</li><li>
Ability to take direction and follow instructions.</li><li>
Effective organizational and communication skills, both written and oral, are needed.</li><li>
Ability to multitask and stay self-motivated.</li><li>
Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet presentation, and case management.</li></ul>
