 The Role
 
 
 
 As our Founding Legal Counsel, you&rsquo;ll shape the legal foundations of a fast scaling fintech, work directly with the founders, and drive high leverage decisions across compliance, contracts, licensing, risk, and international expansion.
 
 
 This is a pivotal role for someone who wants ownership, speed, and the chance to architect a legal function from day zero.
 
 
 
 Eligibility
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 4 to 8 years of legal experience

 Background in payments or fintech
 </li>
 <li>
 Qualified legal professional
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills
 </li>
 <li>
 Bonus: Early stage startup experience

 <li>
 Big bonus: Familiarity with US and UK cross border payment laws
 </li>

 Based in Bangalore, or ready to relocate

 </ul>
 
 What You Will Do
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Lead all legal and compliance initiatives across India, US, UK, EU, and GCC operations
 </li>
 <li>
 Draft, review, and negotiate MSAs, commercial agreements, partner contracts, and cross border compliance docs
 </li>
 <li>
 Work closely with Business, Finance, Compliance, and Product to unblock merchant onboarding and international launches
 </li>
 <li>
 Build frameworks around KYB, AML, escrow, dispute handling, and risk policies
 </li>
 <li>
 Interface with external counsels, global partners, regulators, and payment institutions
 </li>
 <li>
 Set up internal legal processes, templates, and best practices for a high velocity environment
 </li>
 <li>
 Partner with founders on strategic matters including new markets, banking relationships, and entity structuring

 What You&rsquo;ll Do

 Lead the entire spectrum of design work, from UI/UX to visual identity, graphics, and branding, across both web and mobile platforms

 Develop visual assets, product interfaces, and marketing collateral that reflect the brand and product vision
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams to turn complex ideas into intuitive, delightful user experiences
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct user research, iterate quickly based on feedback, and take your projects from concept to execution
 </li>
 <li>
 Help define xPay&rsquo;s design philosophy, color scheme, and ethos as the first design hire
 </li>
 <li>
 Create pitch decks, sales collateral, and marketing content for platforms like LinkedIn and external presentations
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Who You Are
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 1&ndash;3 years of hands-on design experience (startup/fast-paced environments preferred)
 </li>
 <li>
 Versatile across UI/UX, graphic, and product design&mdash;ready to tackle a variety of challenges
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficient with Figma, Framer, Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or similar tools
 </li>
 <li>
 Comfortable taking charge of ambiguous problems, with a hustle mindset
 </li>
 <li>
 Open-minded, proactive, and an excellent communicator
 </li>
 <li>
 Deeply motivated to contribute on a founding team
