As a Senior Data Scientist supporting US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), you will be joining XTS's mission-ready, efficient, and collaborative team supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). In this role, you will be transforming complex analytical models into interactive GEOINT data visualizations, identify trends, insights, and analytical discoveries, and leverage your GEOINT and programming expertise to best serve daily, mission-critical operations. 
 
Required Skills and Qualifications 
 
To be considered for this role, the desired candidate must demonstrate:<ul><li>
Master's degree in a related area and 5 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience<ul><li>
10 years of experience may be provided in lieu of degree</li></ul></li><li>
Current active TS/SCI security clearance and willing to sit for a CI Polygraph exam</li><li>
Demonstrated senior-level Python proficiency, along with strong SQL experience for querying relational databases<ul><li>
Also includes querying and integrating web APIs through Python to retrieve, normalize, and operationalize data</li></ul></li><li>
Experience using Git-based version platform control platforms (e.g. GitLab, GitHub)</li><li>
Experience building dashboards and analytic interfaces using either Dash, Tableau, Streamlit, Panel, etc.</li><li>
Experience developing interactive data visualizations using either Plotly, Seaborn, Matplotlib, Bokeh, etc.</li><li>
Proficiency with geospatial processing frameworks and GIS desktop software including ArcGIS Pro or QGIS, GDAL or ArcPy</li></ul>

This is an exciting opportunity to join us as a Data Scientist to support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) on high-priority mission. The work is operational, mission-driven, and grounded in real-world impact to inform planning, targeting, and execution. Across the USSOUTHCOM AOR, transnational criminal organizations adapt quickly, shifting routes, methods, and infrastructure. Coca cultivation and production regions change. Networks evolve. The data is massive, fragmented, and imperfect. You will be sought to bring order to that complexity. Taking large, diverse datasets and building analytic processes that expose patterns, relationships, and behaviors others can&rsquo;t see. This is a senior, independent role. You will lead analytic efforts with minimal direction, applying experience, judgment, and rigor to every product. Ensuring analytic standards are met, assumptions are clear, and conclusions are defensible aligned with ICD 203 and ICD 206. Collaborating across NGA and Intelligence Community partners, you&rsquo;ll help integrate perspectives and strengthen collective understanding. Advising government leadership on analytic methodologies, processes, and technologies, while mentoring others and setting the standards for quality and relevance. Requirements<ul><li>
Current active Top Secret / SCI clearance and willingness to obtain CI poly</li><li>
You have achieved the accomplishment of a Master&rsquo;s degree + 5 years / Bachelor&rsquo;s degree + 7 years / Associate&rsquo;s degree + 8 years / 10 + years of relevant experience.</li><li>
You have robust proficiency in Python in order to automate and create solutions that scale, adapt, and withstand mission demands.</li><li>
You have gained strong expertise in building processes around large datasets to support in designing repeatable methods that extract real discoveries from complexity.</li><li>
You have a strong skillset in operational visualization in order to make discoveries and present them through clear, intuitive visualizations that team can use immediately in daily operations.</li><li>
Experience with tools such as ArcGIS, Tableau, SPSS, SAS, Excel, or similar to query, aggregate and optimize large datasets.</li></ul> 

Nice to Have<ul><li>
Experience with Activity-Based Intelligence (ABI), to understand behavior, patterns, and relationships over time, not just static snapshots. This approach allows analysis to anticipate change rather than simply describe it.</li></ul>
