Yakima County Juvenile Court is looking for a dedicated Office Specialist I to join our team!In this role, you&rsquo;ll be the backbone of our office operations&mdash;helping to process critical documents, prepare legal filings, coordinate services for youth, and ensure that all procedures follow the rules that keep our justice system fair and efficient.Every day brings something new, from preparing court packets and maintaining case files to connecting families with services that help make positive change. If you&rsquo;re someone who loves structure, accuracy, and making an impact behind the scenes, this is the place for you!What You&rsquo;ll Be Doing<ul><li>Preparing and processing legal documents and case files.</li><li>Maintaining and updating databases with precision.</li><li>Coordinating with probation staff, service providers, and the public.</li><li>Creating reports, transcribing correspondence, and managing sensitive information.</li><li>Supporting court operations by docketing cases and updating records.</li><li>Helping ensure the Juvenile Justice Center runs smoothly and efficiently.</li></ul>What We&rsquo;re Looking For<ul><li>A high school diploma or GED plus three years of specialized or technical training beyond high school (or equivalent combination of experience and training).</li><li>Someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and comfort handling confidential information.</li><li>A self-starter who can balance accuracy, deadlines, and teamwork.</li></ul>Preferred Skills: Experience in law and justice, legal office settings, or administrative support. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and Publisher is a plus!Important Application RequirementAs part of the application process, you must complete a typing test with a minimum passing score of 35 net WPM.The test is administered online through Test Genius &mdash; check your email (and your spam/junk folder) for your link!You&rsquo;ll have 48 hours from the job closing date to complete the test.
