 Position: Head of Department &ndash; Melting
 
 
 
 
 Department: Melting
 
 
 
 
 Reports To: Plant Head
 
 
 
 
 Key Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Plan, manage, and control all melting .
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure correct charge mix, alloy additions, and chemical composition as per specifications.
 </li>
 <li>
 Achieve production targets with optimum yield, controlled power consumption, and minimum melting loss.
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor furnace parameters, refractory life, and maintenance schedules.
 </li>
 <li>
 Implement and maintain SOPs for melting, pouring temperature, and metal quality.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate with Quality, Production, and Maintenance departments.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and environmental norms.
 </li>
 <li>
 Analyze melting-related defects and take corrective and preventive actions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Train and develop operators and supervisors in best melting practices.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain daily and monthly reports on production, energy consumption, and KPIs.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Quality &amp; Safety
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Ensure molten metal quality meets customer and internal standards.
 </li>
 <li>
 Enforce safety practices including PPE usage, molten metal handling, and emergency procedures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct safety audits and toolbox talks.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Cost &amp; Efficiency
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Control raw material consumption and alloy costs.
 </li>
 <li>
 Reduce power/fuel consumption and improve furnace efficiency.
 </li>
 <li>
 Drive continuous improvement, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Required Skills &amp; Competencies
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Strong knowledge of metallurgy, charge calculations, and furnace operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
 </li>
 <li>
 Leadership and team management abilities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Data analysis and reporting skills.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Qualification &amp; Experience
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 B.E. / B.Tech in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
 </li>
 <li>
 8&ndash;15 years of experience in foundry melting operations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Hands-on experience with induction furnaces and spectrometer control.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Salary &amp; Benefits

 Salary Range: ₹40,000 to ₹60,000 per month (Negotiable, based on experience and skill)
