Early College Advisor</b></div><div><b>
Hiring Range: $44,304 - $57,595.20</b></div><div>
Employees in this highly visible role make key contributions to the mission of Yavapai College by promoting and supporting college-wide student retention and completion through a range of counseling and support strategies. Advisors serve a crucial role in driving student engagement and empowering students to achieve their academic and career goals.</div><div>
Advisors utilize developmental advising strategies to facilitate academic and career goal-setting, evaluate student successskills, provide non-academic resources, and advise students on co-curricular and extra-curricular activities offered atYavapai College. Advisors build formative relationships with students by interpreting information and clarifying proceduresand academic requirements of specific programs and majors.</div><div>
Academic advisors work within one of five different advising functions &ndash; enrollment, retention, Promise Program, early college, or Student Support Services. Depending on position function and location, advisors may report to a manager, coordinator, director, or associate vice president. This position may be assigned to any location within the Yavapai College service area.</div><div><b>
Early College Advisor</b></div><div>
The Early College Success Advisor supports the College's outreach efforts in Early College programming and recruitment of students at high schools. In addition, this position serves to facilitate student engagement in academic and career goal setting and planning activities, student success skills, as well as student co- and extra-curricular activities offered at the College. Early College</div><div>
Advisors</div><div>
travel frequently to local high schools and other community locations to support program activities including workshops for students and staff at YC locations and K-12 partner sites as well as college-wide activities including new student orientation and the YC Promise Program events.</div><div><b>
Duties and Responsibilities of all Advisors</b></div><ul><li><div>
Evaluates credit completion and transfer credits for degree requirements</div></li><li><div>
Supports students in establishing realistic and attainable academic and career goals</div></li><li><div>
Assists students in determining educational plans, choosing courses, and exploring majors and career options</div></li><li><div>
Monitors student academic progress</div></li><li><div>
Identifies current or potential needs or problem areas (i.e. study skills, tutoring)</div></li><li><div>
Counsels students with academic difficulty on the development of action plans</div></li><li><div>
Refers students to appropriate college or community resources</div></li><li><div>
Maintains accurate and comprehensive student tracking within Salesforce</div></li><li>
Provides college orientations, program workshops, and resources</li><li>
Maintains knowledge of relevant policies and procedures</li><li>

Academic Advisor Expectations</b><ul><li>
Provides student-facing support with an assigned caseload of students such as new, continuing, transfer, Trio program, underage, returning and Promise, etc.</li><li>
Demonstrates knowledge of introductory job functions, industry practices, and standards</li><li>
Basic proficiency with YC systems such as Salesforce, Degree works, Banner, and other systems required as an Academic Advisor</li><li>
Handles less-complex cases and program issues independently; support and detailed instruction may be needed to perform work</li></ul></div><p></p>

<p></p><div><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in a related field</li><li>
Two or more years of experience in a student services area working with students to identify goals</li><li>
Experience working with a culturally diverse population</li><li>
Experience helping students adjust to college life and/or referring students to campus or community resources asneeded</li><li>

Academic Advisor I, Early College

<div>JOB This position supports the mission and vision of Yavapai College by leading the strategy, development, and execution of creative and digital communications initiatives. This includes oversight of all social media platforms, emerging digital channels, and the College&rsquo;s digital signage network (external displays and internal campus screens). The Manager provides vision and direction for digital storytelling, brand voice, and audience engagement while supervising a team of student employees and a part-time content creator.<br>
<br>
The role is responsible for shaping compelling, multi-channel content strategies that advance enrollment, retention, institutional initiatives, and community engagement. This position plays a key leadership role in elevating the College&rsquo;s digital presence through innovative storytelling, photography, video production, and integrated marketing efforts. As the lead visual storyteller, the Director captures and produces high-quality creative assets that support institutional priorities and strengthen the College&rsquo;s brand.<br>

The work of this position directly contributes to achieving the College&rsquo;s goals related to enrollment growth, student success, community connection, business development, and workforce advancement.<br>
<br>
<b>Key Responsibilities:</b><ul><li>
Provides strategic leadership and oversight of all official college social media channels; establishes institutional standards, training, and best practices.</li><li>
Develops and executes a comprehensive, data-informed digital communications and social media strategy across all platforms.</li><li>
Serves as the lead photographer and videographer for college events and key initiatives, ensuring high-quality visual documentation and storytelling.</li><li>
Directs and produces video projects that support marketing, recruitment, and storytelling objectives.</li><li>
Partners with all Marketing and Communications Department Directors to plan, implement, and evaluate integrated marketing and communications campaigns that leverage digital channels.</li><li>
Leads the creation and curation of engaging, high-quality content across platforms, including social media, photography, video, and digital signage.</li><li>
Monitors digital channels to ensure brand alignment, positive engagement, and timely response to inquiries; escalates and reports inappropriate or harmful content as needed.</li><li>
Oversees the strategy, development, placement, and performance analysis of paid digital and social media advertising campaigns at both institutional and program levels.</li><li>
Collaborates with Marketing leadership and creative team members to execute local, regional, and national digital outreach and publicity efforts.</li><li>
Maintains a visible presence across campuses and centers to capture authentic, engaging content that reflects the student experience.</li><li>
Manages relationships with advertising agencies, freelance photographers, videographers, and other creative vendors.</li><li>
Collaborates with academic and administrative departments to identify and promote stories that support recruitment, enrollment, retention, and institutional priorities.</li></ul>
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES <b>Education:</b><ul><li>
Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, communication, marketing, film and media arts, graphic design, business, or a closely related field.</li></ul><b>

Shows an understanding of current trends in communication and best practices within the industry.</li><li>
Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills. The ability to write for different audiences, such as the media, internal employees, externally to students, etc. is crucial.</li><li>
