Position: HOD &ndash; SMS (Steel Melting Shop) Department: Steel Melting Shop (Production &amp; Maintenance) Location: YSPL Plant Capacity: 6 Ton &times; 2 Furnaces + 12 Ton &times; 1 Furnace Reporting to: Plant Head / Unit Head Employment Type: Full Time &ndash; On RollKey Responsibilities:&middot; Overall in-charge of SMS operations and maintenance of 2 &times; 6 Ton and 1 &times; 12 Ton Induction Furnaces.&middot; Plan, organize, and control the entire SMS department to achieve daily, monthly, and annual production targets.&middot; Ensure smooth operation of furnaces, cranes, water cooling systems, ladle handling, casting, and related equipment.&middot; Optimize raw material consumption, power utilization, and furnace productivity.&middot; Maintain coordination between Production, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Quality, and Safety departments.&middot; Monitor furnace performance, tapping, slag control, lining life, and heat quality.&middot; Implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans in coordination with technical teams.&middot; Ensure proper manpower utilization and skill development of operators and technicians.&middot; Strictly enforce safety protocols and statutory compliance.&middot; Plan and execute shutdown activities and major repair/overhauling schedules.&middot; Prepare production and downtime reports, maintain MIS, and ensure adherence to production planning.&middot; Implement cost control, process improvements, and energy-saving initiatives.&middot; Lead and motivate the SMS team to meet performance and quality targets.&middot; Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Metallurgy / Mechanical / Electrical / Production Engineering.&middot; Experience: Minimum 10&ndash;15 years in Steel Melting Shop (Induction Furnace) with at least 3&ndash;5 years in a leadership role as HOD / Sr. Manager.&middot; In-depth knowledge of 6 Ton and 12 Ton Induction Furnace operations.&middot; Strong knowledge of melting, tapping, slag management, lining practices, and ladle handling.&middot; Good leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.&middot; Familiar with safety procedures, production planning, and statutory compliances.&middot; Induction Furnace Operation&middot; Production Planning &amp; Control&middot; Melting &amp; Tapping Management&middot; Team Handling &amp; Leadership&middot; Furnace Productivity Optimization&middot; Root Cause Analysis&middot; Cost Control &amp; Energy Saving&middot; Safety &amp; Compliance ManagementJob Type: Full-timePay: From &#8377;30,000.00 per monthWork Location: In person
