The Childcare Assistant Teacher supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through Youth Development Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. The Childcare Assistant Teacher creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes all children and families while promoting and maintaining a strong educational program in accordance with the YMCA and licensing and quality requirements.

</li></ul>What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>
Maintain supervision of all students.
</li><li>Provide a safe, clean, and risk-free environment.
</li><li>Engage with the children to encourage their development and involvement in activities.
</li><li>Maintain maintenance records, including, but not limited to: accident and incident reports, sign in/out sheets, attendance records.
</li><li>Greet parents and children daily and report or direct parental concerns to the lead teacher or director.
</li><li>Use positive guidance to support children.
</li><li>Follow DHS procedures and help others do as well.
</li><li>Provide care for the needs of children.
</li><li>Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li></ul>
What You'll Need<ul><li>
Must have a high school diploma or GED and 2,500 hours of service (2 years) of childcare experience preferred
</li><li>30 credit hours of early childhood, elementary or related human services field education
</li><li>15 college credit hours and one-year experience related to the care
</li><li>2,500 hours of service
</li><li>Current CDA certificate
</li><li>Must keep an up-to-date DHS file
</li><li>Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire

Afternoon Childcare Assistant Teacher

Manages the implementation, development and delivery of our preschool program. Recruits, trains and supports assigned staff and volunteers. Additional responsibilities include hiring, onboarding and training of staff; curriculum development; budget control; and adhering to all regulatory and Association standards. Assists with annual campaign activities.

</li></ul>What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>
Develops, implements, and manages operating plans and delivery to promote program and/or membership growth for the YMCA.
</li><li>Executes strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
</li><li>Assists in developing and controlling department budgets related to the position as requested by management.
</li><li>Hires, Trains, Onboards and supervises part-time and full-time hourly staff and volunteers in assigned areas.
</li><li>Facilitates communication and provides leadership to staff.
</li><li>Assures compliance with state and local regulations.
</li><li>Ensures that program and Association standards are met, and safety procedures are followed.
</li><li>Ensures implementation of high-quality programs through innovative program development, evaluations and ongoing training of staff.
</li><li>Coordinates special events and activities.
</li><li>Interfaces with and resolves member concerns to further member engagement.
</li><li>Provides data, rosters, schedules, and reports as required for assigned programs.
</li><li>Establishes and maintains collaborations with community organizations
</li><li>Play key role in branch Annual Campaign
</li><li>Manage payroll for assigned department
</li><li>Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
</li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned.
</li></ul>What You'll Need<ul><li>
Four-year college degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred
</li><li>Minimum of two years of work experience
</li><li>Experience directing programs through supervision of volunteers and staff
</li><li>Previous experience with diverse populations
</li><li>YMCA Team Leader certification preferred
</li><li>Must be fluent in spoken and written English
</li><li>Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
