<div>The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Childcare Program Coordinator to join our team!

As the Childcare Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support for Before and After School Programs.

Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Receive and direct communications with staff through incoming email, telephone calls, or in person. Respond to inquiries or refer as appropriate.</li>
<li>Assist in managing coverage schedules to ensure positive program experience.</li>
<li>Provide administrative assistance, including but not limited to distributing, processing, and filing paperwork, records, reports, memos, correspondence, inventory, and resupply.</li>
<li>Support efforts to manage the approved budget and curriculum ordering and distribution.</li>
<li>Maintain an orderly office environment to provide efficient service to staff. This includes filing, retrieval of records and prioritizing of workload.</li>
<li>Effectively communicate program information and progress as relevant.</li>
<li>Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all YMCA staff, school staff and community organizations.</li>
<li>Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information.</li>
<li>Provide reports and rosters as necessary.</li>
<li>Utilize purchase orders to order supplies and inventory as requested.</li>
<li>Assist in the coordination of department and program events. special projects, training as assigned.</li>

<li>2-3 years of directly related experience to include computer skills, office/administrative support, customer service, and school age childcare.</li>
<li>Must be proficient in MS Office and database entry.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Salesforce database preferred.</li>

<li>Demonstrated ability to multi-task, problem-solve and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.</li>
<li>The ability to demonstrate a friendly, courteous and professional manner while working with members and staff and the ability to understand, articulate, and enforce YMCA policies and procedures in a positive way.</li>
<li>Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks.</li>

<li>Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.</li>

Wage: $20.06 to $20.60 per hour, depending on qualifications

Hours: Part-Time, 29 hours per week

Locations: Region 34 - YMCA Before and After School Programs, Tacoma, WA. Offices are located in Lakewood and Bremerton. Travel is a requirement of this position. This position will travel within Pierce and Kitsap Counties.

Child Care Program Coodinator

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
As a Childcare Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for supporting the Lead Teacher at the YMCA Childcare Preschool year-round to serve our community with a variety of activity options to explore and develop the talents of youth so that children have fun, grow, and thrive in our care. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Key Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Participate in planning the educational programs and assist with the daily implementation of the daily classroom curriculum.</li>
<li>Prepare and organize the classroom and classroom materials in accordance with the planned classroom curriculum.</li>
<li>Assist with maintaining site and equipment, including properly implementing proper cleaning procedures and upkeep of equipment and facility.</li>
<li>Attend and participate in family nights and program activities as applicable and agreed upon.</li>
<li>Maintain positive public relations with members and always represent the best interests of the YMCA.</li>
<li>Establish and maintain positive relationships and effective communication with parents.</li>
<li>Engage children at all times and maintain program/site in compliance with state licensing standards.</li>
<li>Treat every participant fairly and equally regardless of circumstances and abilities, making each feel good about themselves and encouraging a fun environment.</li>
<li>Greet all parents to establish a friendly rapport.</li>
<li>Communicate effectively with Lead Teacher, Assistant Director, and Program Directors.</li>
<li>Support Lead Teacher in the implementation of curriculum providing an integrated, child centered and comprehensive curriculum and multicultural environment, which meets the needs of every child, including those with disabilities.</li>
<li>Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting branch events.</li>
<li>Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment.</li>
</ul>
Are you a good fit?
<ul>
<li>Minimum of 18 years of age or older.</li>
<li>High School Diploma or GED.</li>
<li>Have or are willing to obtain a Washington State Initial stackable certification (Must enroll upon hire).</li>
<li>A desire to have fun, engage with children and inspire creativity!</li>
<li>A love for working with children.</li>
<li>A minimum of one-year experience working with children in a child care setting is preferred.
</li><li>Knowledge of birth to school-aged child development is preferred.
</li><li>Previous experience with diverse populations.
</li><li>Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.</li>
<li>Sensitivity to the needs of families including adults and children.</li>
<li>Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day. Complete other online and in-person training as required.</li>
<li>Possesses (or is willing to possess prior to hire): CPR, First Aid, TB Test, Food Handler's Card, Childcare Basic STARS, proof of MMR vaccine, Merit account.</li>
<li>Able and willing to complete a Department of Children, Youth, and Families Portable Background Check.
</li><li>Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).</li>
