Program Overview:
Youth Villages&rsquo; Specialized Crisis Services (SCS) Program provides rapid, effective assessment and intervention for youth up to age 18 who are experiencing a psychiatric emergency, such as suicidal or homicidal thoughts, severe depression, physical aggression, psychosis, or acting in a destructive or uncontrollable manner. The program offers thorough, strength-based assessments and crisis management to ensure the safety of the youth and others involved. Families, community members, and providers can reach out for support regardless of whether the youth is currently receiving services from Youth Villages.
SCS staff work closely with the youth, their family, and key community partners to evaluate risk factors and develop an immediate plan for stabilization. Services are provided in the home or community to offer timely, accessible support during a crisis. In addition to crisis assessment, the program provides ongoing treatment and intervention to help maintain family stability until appropriate long-term services can be secured. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Crisis Response Counselor:<ul><li>
Provides mobile crisis response and thorough, strength-based assessment of youth and families during crises in their natural environments</li><li>
Utilizes crisis respite homes when appropriate</li><li>
Provides ongoing treatment and intervention to support the youth/family until appropriate services are secured</li><li>
Works well with others in a highly supervised atmosphere</li><li>
Collaborates with adult crisis teams and community consumers</li><li>
Attends 3 weekly meetings (individual, team, and clinical consultation) for professional development to help enhance clinical skills</li><li>
Completes accurate and timely documentation in an electronic medical record system (EMR)</li><li>

Program Overview:</div><div> 
Youth Villages' residential programs in Tennessee and Georgia provide safe, nurturing environments for youth ages 6 to 17 with complex behavioral and mental health challenges. These programs are offered across three types of facilities&mdash;secure facilities, open campuses, and group homes&mdash;each designed to meet the individual needs of youth exhibiting a range of referral behaviors, including aggression, self-harm, suicidal ideations, and problem sexual behavior.</div><div> 
Our residential campuses deliver an intensive treatment program that strikes a unique balance between structure and freedom, all while preparing youth for continued success outside of a residential setting. A key focus is to help each youth step down to the least restrictive treatment option possible by developing the skills they need to thrive in less structured environments through trauma-informed care, clinical interventions, life skills building, and recreation therapy (in selection locations). Most youth also attend fully accredited schools located on our campuses, ensuring their educational progress continues alongside therapeutic support.</div><div> 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</div><div>

Facilitates individual and family therapy for a small caseload of 2 to 4 youth</li><li>
Works as a liaison between program staff, outside providers (like custodial agencies), and counselors</li><li>
Prepares and helps lead weekly team meetings</li><li>
Completes admissions and discharges for youth on residential campuses</li><li>
Coordinates off-campus home passes and provides supervision during on-campus family visits</li><li>
Co-leads at least 3 hours of group therapy per week</li><li>

It is one of the first programs to receive the well-supported designation from Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse developed in accordance with the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) having been shown to reduce out-of-home placements and accelerate permanency for children. 
 
This program serves youth from birth to age 18 who are facing serious emotional or behavioral challenges or have experienced trauma, such as abuse or neglect. Services are provided by highly trained Family Intervention Specialists directly in the family&rsquo;s home and community&ndash;Intercept&reg; is not an office-based program. 
 
Intercept provides intensive, strength-based support tailored to each family&rsquo;s unique needs, ultimately helping them achieve lasting change through evidence-based mental health interventions, along with the development of new parenting and communication skills.</div><div>

Program Overview:
Youth Villages&rsquo; Treatment Foster Care program provides evidence-based, intensive in-home treatment for youth in foster care while supporting foster parents and advocating for the best interests of each youth. The program serves children and adolescents (ages 0 to18) who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect, and may have behavioral and mental health needs.
Our parent-centered treatment model promotes positive change across home, school, community, and peer environments &ndash; all while working diligently to achieve family reunification whenever possible or finding permanency through adoption. Foster families and youth receive comprehensive support through weekly in-person sessions and access to 24/7 on-call support from highly trained, trauma-informed Foster Care Specialists.

Program Overview:</div><div> 
Intercept&reg;, developed by Youth Villages, is an evidence-based intensive, in-home program that focuses on keeping families together by preventing out-of-home placements or facilitating reunification after such placements, including foster care, residential treatment facilities, hospitalization, or juvenile detention centers. It is one of the first programs to receive the well-supported designation from Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse developed in accordance with the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) having been shown to reduce out-of-home placements and accelerate permanency for children. 
 
This program serves youth from birth to age 18 who are facing serious emotional or behavioral challenges or have experienced trauma, such as abuse or neglect. Services are provided by highly trained Family Intervention Specialists directly in the family&rsquo;s home and community&ndash;Intercept&reg; is not an office-based program. 
 
Intercept provides intensive, strength-based support tailored to each family&rsquo;s unique needs, ultimately helping them achieve lasting change through evidence-based mental health interventions, along with the development of new parenting and communication skills.</div><div> 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</div><div> 
The Family Intervention Specialist:</div><div><ul><li> 
Carries a caseload of 4 to 6 families</li><li>
Holds individual and family sessions with each family 3 times a week, scheduled at the convenience of the families</li><li>
Conducts on-going assessment of youth to determine their needs from a strength-focused, solution-based perspective</li><li>
Attends 3 weekly meetings (individual, team, and clinical consultation) for professional development and quarterly booster trainings to enhance clinical skills</li><li>
Drives up to 60 to 80 miles to meet with families in their homes and communities (additional travel may be required)</li><li>
Collaborates with other providers, case workers, and courts to formulate a collaborative treatment plan</li><li>
Provides on-call crisis support to the youth and family (schedules vary by location)</li><li>
Completes accurate and timely documentation in an electronic medical record system (EMR)</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned</li></ul></div><div>

Schedule is flexible and non-traditional as it is based around the availability of youth and families served.</li><li>
Applicants must possess a current, valid driver&rsquo;s license, an automobile for work purposes, and proof of auto insurance.</li><li>

$80,000 - $93,000 per year based on education and clinical license<div>

Program Overview:
 
Youth Villages offers paid internship opportunities for bachelor&rsquo;s and master&rsquo;s students across select residential and community-based programs. Placements are determined during the interview process based on availability, academic requirements, and your individual experience.
We collaborate with you and your academic program to design an internship that fits your practicum needs and class schedule to ensure you can obtain course credit. Additionally, internships can serve as a valuable opportunity to gain professional experience beyond an academic requirement. Internships are offered nationwide during the fall and spring semesters, with select locations in Tennessee over the summer semester.
