WHAT You'll DO
As a Physical Security Design Consultant, you will lead security design deliverables across your assigned region, ensuring all work meets client requirements and program standards. This role blends technical leadership with project execution, requiring a strong engineering background and hands-on experience developing detailed physical security design documents&mdash;including plans and specifications for access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and supporting infrastructure.
You will oversee external security design consultants, guide their work, and review all design documentation for accuracy and quality. In addition, you will collaborate closely with project stakeholders and cross-disciplinary partners while managing multiple data center projects and scopes of work. You&rsquo;ll be expected to quickly ramp into ownership of active projects, taking on design leadership responsibilities early and operating with a high degree of autonomy.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Project Management<ul><li>
Lead and manage physical security design efforts for multiple data center projects within the assigned region.</li><li>
Identify project schedule, scope parameters, and oversee security design and implementation per client design requirements and standards.</li><li>
Manage early project initiation activities and develop project security scope, schedule, critical deliverables, and requirements.</li><li>
Manage scheduling, status, and tracking of critical project tasks, issues, and deliverables.</li><li>
Prepare, issue, and manage Scopes of Service documents for security consultant, engineer, and integrator Scopes of Work (SOW).</li><li>
Evaluate SOW responses and prepare evaluation reports, to include evaluation criteria, scoring, and recommendation details.</li><li>
Operate with a high degree of independence, managing project scope, priorities, and decision-making within defined program objectives.</li></ul>
Design<ul><li>
Perform security site evaluations of potential client properties and review proposed design concepts.</li><li>
Apply client system design standards to in-progress site design, collaborate with client owner and user group stakeholders to define use cases and verify functional requirements, and produce a security functional specification for the project.</li><li>
Review all security system design documentation for compliance with published security requirements, technical standards, and installation standards.</li><li>
Participate in the maintenance and evolution of the Basis of Design, prototype designs, and template specifications.</li><li>
Define, develop, and implement new security design standards, templates, and approaches where gaps exist or improvements are identified.</li><li>
Lead or contribute to the development of new design types and scalable solutions to support evolving client needs.</li><li>
Redline documentation with corrections and log issues, as required.</li></ul>
Client Relationship<ul><li>
Accountable for keeping clients informed of project status, including budget, schedule, risks, issues, and successes, and managing the client's expectations around the project design through individual and project team member communication.</li><li>
Represent the security design function in project discussions and provide subject matter expertise.</li></ul>
Collaborate<ul><li>
Serve as a primary security point of contact for project teams and stakeholders. Attend regular project design, project management, Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC), and construction meetings.</li><li>
Engage with senior stakeholders and leadership to present design strategies, provide recommendations, and influence decision-making.</li><li>
Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Data Center Engineering, Design Manager, Architecture and Engineering Firms, Property Managers, Security Consulting Firms, and the client&rsquo;s business groups.</li><li>
Manage site activation activities for physical security amongst project parties and stakeholders to drive schedule, quality, and cost.</li><li>
Coordinate with design resources to develop the complete scope of work documents for security systems procurement and installation.</li></ul>
Documentation<ul><li>
Produce project status and issues reports and meet with client stakeholders weekly to review and resolve high-priority project issues.</li><li>
Log all instances of issue resolutions that constitute exceptions to the published client security requirements to facilitate effective requirements exceptions reporting and/or requirement document updates.</li></ul>
Quality Control<ul><li>
Conduct on-site inspections during construction and installation, and final acceptance testing of completed system installations.</li><li>
Review all security system design documentation produced by the system designer for compliance with published security requirements, technical standards, and installation standards.</li><li>
Oversee the delivery of all shop drawings and close-out documentation required from the integrator/contractor.</li><li>
Identify opportunities for program-level improvements and drive initiatives that enhance design quality, efficiency, and scalability across projects.</li></ul>
Requirements:

WHAT YOU'll NEED<ul><li>
Experience: 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in consulting with external clients on complex, aggressively scheduled data center projects</li><li>
Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or equivalent work experience</li><li>
Knowledge:
<ul><li>Strong technical background in Physical Security Engineering, particularly in the design of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and related systems</li>
</ul></li><li>Skills:
<ul><li>Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, and Visio</li>
<li>Proficiency in Studio and Bluebeam is a plus</li>
<li>Proficiency in project management tools, such as MS Project, SharePoint, and QuickBase</li>
<li>Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design software such as Revit &amp; AutoCAD is a plus</li>
<li>Familiarity with emerging technologies and workflows (e.g. AI-assisted design, automation tools) to improve efficiency and scalability</li>
</ul></li><li>Abilities:
<ul><li>Demonstrated experience developing engineered physical security design documents, including drawings and specification</li>
<li>Demonstrated excellence in communicating and presenting complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in written form</li>
<li>Experience managing external consultants and guiding design deliverables from concept through completion</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to identify critical path activities, prioritize tasks and deliverables, and realize consistent progress</li>
