We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Buyer to lead critical procurement activities in support of engineering and operations. This role requires strong sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management skills &ndash; ideally from aerospace or defense sectors &ndash; and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 
 
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Own end-to-end procurement lifecycle for assigned categories including materials, components, equipment, and services</li>
</ul><ul><li>Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and contracts teams to align purchasing strategies with program timelines and technical requirements</li>
</ul><ul><li>Identify and evaluate suppliers; issue RFQs/RFPs, analyze quotes, and negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms</li>
</ul><ul><li>Ensure compliance with DFARs, FAR, ITAR, and other applicable federal contracting regulations</li>
</ul><ul><li>Maintain accurate purchase orders and records in procurement systems; support audits and reporting</li>
</ul><ul><li>Monitor vendor performance and resolve delivery, quality, or invoicing issues</li>
</ul><ul><li>Drive cost savings, supplier diversification, and process improvements</li>
</ul><ul><li>Proactively identify and resolve supply chain issues to prevent production delays.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Develop new sources as needed and maintain key supplier relationships.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Track and report on cost savings, delivery timelines, and quality metrics.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Conduct research, benchmark, and collect market data to ensure a superior supply base</li>
</ul><ul><li>Place purchase orders and resolve downstream issues with cross-functional teams</li></ul> 


Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience</li>
</ul><ul><li>Knowledge of AS9100, ISO, or other quality systems (preferred)</li>
</ul><ul><li>5+ years' experience in procurement or supply chain, ideally within aerospace, aviation, defense, or similar environments</li>
</ul><ul><li>Understanding of procurement compliance in government contracting (e.g., FAR/DFARS, ITAR)</li>
</ul><ul><li>Experience in a fast-paced or startup environment</li>
</ul><ul><li>Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Unanet preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite</li>
</ul><ul><li>Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills</li>
</ul><ul><li>U.S. Citizen (required)</li>
