Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Salary: $66,919-$78,796, DOE (for 260 day contract)
Class Summary:
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator develops and implements district marketing and communications strategies that support student enrollment, student retention, public awareness, and community engagement. The position works collaboratively with district leadership, schools, and departments to promote district programs, school choice opportunities, student achievement, and district initiatives. The coordinator is responsible for developing marketing campaigns, creating promotional materials, supporting branding efforts, coordinating advertising and outreach activities, and assisting with district communications efforts. This position requires a combination of on-site work at district facilities/schools, attendance at district and community events, and independent project work. Flexible scheduling and remote work opportunities may be available, subject to district needs and supervisor approval.
Education, Training and Experience:

Preferred qualifications include a degree, training, or professional experience in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, business, graphic design, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience developing marketing campaigns, creating promotional materials, managing branding efforts, and utilizing communication and design tools.
Essential Functions of the Position:

Strategy, Campaign, & Brand Management

Marketing Strategy: Develops and implements district marketing and communications strategies that support enrollment growth, student retention, and public awareness.

Campaign Creation: Creates and coordinates marketing campaigns to promote district programs, opportunities, services, and initiatives.

Advertising Coordination: Coordinates advertising campaigns across print, digital, social media, and other communication platforms.

Brand Integrity: Assists in maintaining and strengthening district branding standards and visual identity.

Data Analytics: Monitors marketing and communication effectiveness through data, analytics, enrollment trends, and public feedback to identify opportunities to improve district visibility, reputation, enrollment, and retention efforts.

Content Development & Marketing Correspondence

Promotional Materials: Develops marketing materials, including brochures, advertisements, presentations, digital content, videos, graphics, and other promotional resources.

Mass Notifications: Utilize K-12 mass communication tools (e.g., ParentSquare, Finalsite Community Engagement) to draft and distribute urgent announcements, text alerts, and district updates.

Storytelling & Multimedia: Assists with photography, videography, storytelling, and content development to highlight district programs, staff, students, and achievements.

Digital Media & Public Outreach

Digital Communications: Supports district social media, website content, digital communications, and public outreach efforts using school CMS platforms (e.g., Finalsite, Apptegy).

Leadership Collaboration: Works collaboratively with the Public Information Officer and the Superintendent to support the district's communication priorities.

Stakeholder Relations: Collaborates with district leadership, principals, and departments to identify and promote key programs, initiatives, and student opportunities.

Community Engagement: Assists with the planning, coordination, and promotion of district events, recruitment activities, and community engagement efforts.

Professional Relationships: Maintains positive working relationships with staff, students, families, community organizations, and external partners.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite / Google Workspace.

Direct experience with graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud).

Familiarity with K-12 Mass Notification systems (e.g., ParentSquare, SchoolMessenger) and school CMS platforms (e.g., Finalsite) is strongly preferred.

Possess organizational and time management skills
Physical Requirements:

LIGHT WORK: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than those for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
