Job Overview
The Costing Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and commercially sound cost estimates for EPC piping projects. This role supports the Costing & Design Department by analyzing project requirements, interpreting technical drawings, preparing BOQs, and developing pricing aligned with company costing methodologies and SAP-based processes. The position works closely with Engineering, Sales, Logistics, and Proposal teams to ensure technically and commercially optimized project quotations.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.

Certification or coursework in Cost Engineering, Project Management, or EPC is an advantage.

1–4 years of experience in cost estimation, costing engineering, or proposal engineering.

Experience in piping systems such as GRP, GRE, GRV, steel, or equivalent is highly preferred.

Exposure to EPC project environments within oil & gas, water, desalination, or petrochemical sectors.

Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.

Ability to read AutoCAD drawings, piping isometrics, P&IDs, and extract accurate BOQ quantities.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost modeling, BOQ preparation, and rate database management.

Good understanding of piping materials, pressure classes, stiffness standards, and jointing methods.

Familiarity with SAP SD/MM modules or equivalent ERP costing systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure and deliver accurate results within tight deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Strong coordination and teamwork abilities across Engineering, Sales, Logistics, and Finance functions.

High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling pricing and commercial information.
