Position Type: Part-time

Subject : Math Tutoring (Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus) and Chemistry

Grade: 10th Grade

Location: Scottsdale, AZ 85254

Note: Applicants should live in or near Scottsdale, AZ 85254. Tutors located within approximately 5–15 miles are encouraged to apply, including nearby areas such as Phoenix, AZ 85032, Paradise Valley, AZ 85253, Scottsdale zip codes 85250, 85254, 85258, and Phoenix zip codes 85028, 85050, and 85054.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one academic tutoring sessions focused on assigned high school math and chemistry subjects.
• Assist the student in strengthening problem-solving skills, homework completion, and concept mastery.
• Use effective instructional strategies tailored to the student’s learning pace and academic goals.
• Prepare and organize tutoring materials that support lesson objectives.
• Maintain a positive, focused, and encouraging learning environment.
• Travel to the agreed tutoring location, including in-home sessions or approved public meeting spaces.
• Communicate regularly with the assigned coordinator regarding scheduling and progress updates.
• Commit to approximately 2 hours of tutoring per week.

Schedule:

• Monday through Thursday, starting at 5:30 PM onward.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or academic support is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of high school-level Math and Chemistry concepts.
• Patient, reliable, and able to work effectively with students of varying learning styles.
• Ability to adjust teaching methods based on individual student needs.
• Must have reliable transportation for travel to session locations if required.
• Must currently reside near the tutoring area.
• Experience working with school-age learners is a plus but not required.

Licensing / Certification Requirements:

• Valid or current Teaching Certification

Compensation:

• $27.00 – $33.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
