Job Summary

The Department of Biotechnology in the School of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) seeks to hire a full time faculty member for Assistant Professor rank starting Fall 2026 (beginning of August 26). Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics or a related discipline. Prior successful teaching experience at the university level, employing high impact educational practices to promote active learning, and experience working effectively with globally diverse student populations are expected.

Primary Responsibilities

• Teaching undergraduate courses related to Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics
• Holding office hours; one hour per course per week.
• Completing mandatory quality assurance requirements at the end of each semester for the delivered course such as Course DASPA, Program DASPA, Course Files and Syllabi.
• Participating in Department, School of Arts and Sciences, and University meetings, if possible.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A doctoral degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics or any other related discipline, from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) designation accredited by a recognized body or equivalent DHA qualification.
• Effective oral and written English communication skills.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching, including the use of high impact educational practices at the university level.
• Experience in working effectively with a diverse student population.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines.
