Job Title: Global Procurement Director
Summary:
At Harcros Chemicals Inc., an employee-owned company with a rich legacy in specialty chemical manufacturing and distribution, we are continuously expanding. With 2 manufacturing plants and 27 distribution facilities across 20 states, we are seeking a dedicated Global Procurement Director to join our team to assist with opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
- Lead the strategic planning and overall management of the Procurement team to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Distribution, Domestic, and International Manufacturing teams to develop and implement cost-effective sourcing strategies that drive reductions in overall spend.
- Directly negotiate with key suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.
- Partner with the Vice President of Transportation to align procurement and freight strategies for optimal efficiency and cost savings.
- Provide direct supervision and leadership to the Director of Supply Chain & Logistics, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and performance standards.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives by leveraging purchasing volumes and strategic supplier relationships to achieve improved pricing and value.

Education and/or Experience:
Must have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, accounting, or supply chain, experience with international purchasing and negotiation a plus.
Adept negotiation skills and history of supplier negotiations
Experience working with Chemical Distribution.
Minimum 5 years’ relevant industry experience in business analysis, purchasing or material distribution.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to place numbers in series.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Communication skills – must be responsive in a timely manner and foster cooperation across functional lines in the organization.
Knowledge of distribution operations including stocking, order fulfillment, replenishment, and inventory control practices.
Experience with warehouse, logistics and inventory movement in an ERP system.
Working experience with large and complex data sets to drive business decisions and insights.
Must possess excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions based upon data available.
Excellent commitment to task.
Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
