Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Caregiver/Med Techs to join our dedicated team on both 1st and 2nd shifts. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional care and support to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings. Your expertise will help enhance the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including those with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or developmental disabilities. You will be responsible for delivering personalized patient care, assisting with daily activities, medication administration, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity
- Administer medications accurately following medical directives and document all care provided using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to track health status
- Support residents with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, or other medical procedures under supervision
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
- Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or mental condition promptly to nursing staff or supervisors
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive environment that promotes well-being and engagement
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic nursing practices such as medication administration and vital signs monitoring is essential
- Experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other memory-related conditions is a strong plus
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner enhances your ability to document accurately and efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with individuals who have developmental disabilities or require hospice care
- Previous exposure to acute care settings or working within home & community care environments will be advantageous
