1st Engineer / 2nd Engineer – Engine Department – Cruise Liner

We are looking for experienced and motivated marine engineers to join the Engine Department on board luxury MSC Cruises vessels.
As a 1st Engineer or 2nd Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of the ship’s engine systems and machinery under the supervision of the Chief Engineer.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of all engine room equipment and auxiliary machinery
• Monitor performance, fuel consumption, and technical parameters of propulsion and power systems
• Plan and carry out maintenance activities according to the company’s planned maintenance system (PMS)
• Supervise engine crew and assign daily technical tasks
• Maintain records, reports, and ensure compliance with company and international maritime safety standards
• Assist in troubleshooting, repairs, and overhauls of machinery
• Cooperate with deck and hotel departments to ensure smooth vessel operations

Requirements

• Valid STCW certificates for the relevant rank (1st or 2nd Engineer)
• Previous experience on cruise ships or passenger vessels preferred
• Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
• Good command of English (both spoken and written)
• Strong sense of responsibility and teamwork
• Valid medical certificate (in accordance with ILO/MLC standards)
