Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated First Grade Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a love for education. In this role, you will create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes curiosity, confidence, and academic growth. Your enthusiasm for early childhood education will help students develop essential skills in literacy, math, social-emotional learning, and physical development. As a First Grade Teacher, you will collaborate with colleagues, engage families, and implement innovative teaching strategies to support each child's unique journey.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in literacy, math, science, social studies, and arts.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior guidance techniques.
- Assess student progress regularly using formative and summative assessments, including standardized testing when applicable.
- Incorporate learning technology and educational resources to enhance instruction and student engagement.
- Support early intervention strategies for students with special needs or learning differences, including working with children with autism or in special education programs.
- Mentor and collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to share best practices and improve instructional methods.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Proven classroom experience working with young children in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood curriculum development.
- Experience with literacy education, math instruction, and teaching physical education activities.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools, standardized testing procedures, and library services integration.
- Skills in classroom management, behavior management, tutoring, and working with children with diverse needs including those requiring special education or early intervention support.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administration. Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
