Job Description: Diesel Technician

1st Shift | Monday - Friday | 9AM - 6PM | Overtime and Weekends as Needed

Department: Fleet Maintenance Job Status: Full-Time Reports to: Manager of Fleet Maintenance

POSITION SUMMARY

Our Diesel Mechanics are responsible for maintaining and servicing all Carter LOGISTEED Express Fleet Trucks and Trailers. Those services include but are not limited to all preventative maintenance, maintaining air brake systems, exhaust aftertreatment systems, drivetrain components, steering and air suspension components, using Bendix, Premium Tech Tool and Diagnostic Link to diagnose ECM’s and other electrical problems along with other issues that might come up with our equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for maintenance of fleet trucks & trailers.
• Troubleshoot and complete repairs to all aspects and systems of the truck. Keep correct documentation of all parts used, type of diagnosis, and services performed in the repair order.
• Overtime is mandatory at times; we try to give as much notice as possible.
• Overtime is also available when our workload permits it should the employee want to pick up extra hours.
• We offer Dealership level Volvo and Detroit Certification training after probationary period.· *

If you do not have a valid Air Brake Certification you will be required to acquire one from an accredited source within 6 months of your hire date.*

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE:

2+ years of prior experience with any commercial tractor make and models (preference to Volvo and Freightliner). Must be self-driven with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and work in a team environment. Must be able to follow given directions to complete tasks and maintain a clean and safe working environment. Volvo and/or Detroit certifications are a plus!! Previous A, B or C Tech certified Technicians will be given highest consideration.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Basic computer skills and abilities to operate and utilize current diagnostic tools. Must have the ability to learn new programs as necessary.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Solid work history and quality craftsmanship. Must be motivated, dependable, and able to focus while having a willingness to successfully function in a team environment. A valid driver’s license is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

You will need to follow all correct and proper PPE requirements such as but not limited to, wearing a reflective vest, shirt, or jacket, and steel toe shoes or shoe coverings. You will also need to maintain any and all safety certifications and standards necessary as set by management.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
