We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator / Backup CDL Driver to join our team. This role is primarily responsible for safely operating a forklift to support warehouse and yard operations, including loading, unloading, and material movement.
In addition, this position will serve as a backup CDL driver when needed, providing coverage for driver absences, peak demand, or operational support. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, flexible, and comfortable working both in a warehouse and yard environment.
Forklift & Warehouse Operations (Primary):

Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, move, and stack products and materials.

Transport raw materials, finished goods, and packaging throughout the facility.

Support shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Perform routine equipment inspections and report any issues to maintenance.

Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in compliance with GMP and safety standards.

Assist with inventory movement, palletizing, and general warehouse duties as needed.
Yard & CDL Backup Support (Secondary):

Provide backup support as a CDL driver when needed for coverage or operational demands.

Safely move trailers within the yard or between facilities as required.

Assist with spotting trailers and ensuring proper placement for loading/unloading.

Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections when operating CDL vehicles.

Follow all DOT regulations and company driving policies.
General Responsibilities:

Complete required documentation, logs, and reports accurately.

Support team operations and assist in other duties as assigned.

Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Valid IL CDL license (required) with a clean driving record.

Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

Previous yard spotting or driving experience preferred.

Strong understanding of safety standards and warehouse operations.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

Ability to operate equipment and climb in/out of forklifts and trucks.

Capability to work extended shifts as needed.

Combination of indoor warehouse and outdoor yard work.

Exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.
